Accomplishments: Determined the mechanisms of protein kinase C alpha in regulation of uterine muscle
contraction. Gathered data on the role of protein kinase C in growth of bone cells. Presented the data at
five scientific meetings. Published in collaborations 4 papers in peer-reviewed journals.

to pharmacology students at the Indiana University Medical School.

Accomplishments: Was instrumental in obtaining NIH RO1 Grant on “Cellular Mechanisms of MgSO 4 in
Human Uterus”. Obtained the American Cancer Society Grant and the Lilly Centre for Women's Health
Grant to study human uterine leiomyomas. Gathered data on the effect of MgSO 4 on human pregnant
uterus, and the role of protein kinase C in human uterus. R03 grant on “The Role of Protein Kinase C
Isoforms in Human Uterus” was funded. Presented his data at various scientific meetings. Published in
collaborations 5 papers in peer-reviewed journals.

Accomplishments: Received the Indiana University Biomedical Research Grant to study effect of cocaine
on human pregnant uterus. Obtained the data on the cellular mechanisms of cocaine effect on human
uterine muscle. Presented the findings at the scientific meetings.

Responsibilities: Learning new techniques and employing them in the laboratory. Designing, planning
and performing scientific experiments relevant to the research projects. Working closely with a scientific

Accomplishments: Gathered the data on the role of steroid hormones (progesterone) in regulation of
cellular calcium homeostasis in human uterus. Made an oral presentation on the role of the progesterone
in the uterine calcium regulation at the Meeting of the Society for Gynecological Investigation.

Accomplishments: Obtained the data on the effect of free radicals on cellular calcium regulation in
vascular smooth muscle. Presented the findings at the Experimental Biology Annual Meeting 1992.
Based on the results obtained 3 experimental papers and 1 review were published.
