PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Vice President of Finance: Directed and managed all accounting operations for the firm. Responsible for
the personnel and administrative functions, including insurance programs and banking relations. Developed
the operating procedures for purchasing and contract negotiations. Oversaw the creation of hiring policies
and procedures as well as formulated a new payroll system. These actions led to a 20% reduction in
workers comp and unemployment claims. Designed and implemented a performance pay system, which led
to a 10% increase in profits. Implemented cost controls that resulted in a 25% reduction in direct and
operating costs.
PERSOL AMERICA, INC., Miami, FL (Exclusive U.S. Distributor of Italian Eyewear) 1992 – 1994
Controller/Operations Manager: Performed all accounting and financial functions including general ledger,
preparation of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, credit and collections. In charge of the day-to-
day operations and activities of the sales force. Restructured credit/collections procedures that led to a
reduction in bad debts of 30%. Initiated a new marketing/sales campaign, which led to an increase in sales
of 20%.
ROBELEN AND ASSOCIATES , INC., Fort Lauderdale, FL (Luxury Homebuilder) 1989 – 1992
Controller: Administered all accounting operations for the corporate and partnership accounts including job
costing, general ledger and financial statement preparation. Prepared the data for yearly audits and
institutional use for evaluating performance and adherence to policies, procedures and requirements.
Established and secured various operating credit lines.
MICRO IMAGING SYSTEMS , INC., Miami, FL (Source Document Microfilm and Microfiche) 1985 – 1989
Controller: Responsible for the administration of corporate financial management functions including vendor
payments, financial statement preparation, budgeting and forecasting, and credit and collections. Reduced
payroll costs by 33% through the consolidation of staff functions and the minimization of procedural
redundancy.
Prior to this position employment included positions in bank auditing/operations, Internal Revenue Service
and Defense Contract Audit Administration.
