Tuesday May 13, 2014 SUBPLANS (Espejo Room 2014)

8:00 Subteacher should be in the classroom ready for the lesson. Please make sure you take attendance by
looking at the list provided for each period in this pack. Please submit attendance lists downstairs to the main
office as soon as possible. I am fully aware that subteachers do not always speak or know the target language
so you do not need to worry. Students can work independently; they do not need to do it in groups.
Normally Tuesdays we are in the computer lab 1022 but there is NWEA testing and we will NOT be able to
use them for two weeks. I told students about this last Friday and remided them Monday. I am attaching the
sitting charts for the class. However, if you need to ask some students to sit somewhere else, please do so.
Housekeeping Have students respect furniture, materials and others. Do not let them write on desks or leave
any garbage on desks or floors behind them, they know better in my class! Make sure they come in the room
in order and they leave it the same way. They need to push in their chairs. Please write the names of any
students that do not behave and I will make sure to log it in the system and make any phone calls or send any
emails needed. Thank you!
Photocopies I made copies of everything needed for period all periods. Please distribute copies according to
the plans below. Avoid sending students out of the room as much as you can as they sometimes might get
sidetracked and get in trouble.
Important At the end of each period, please ask students to push their chairs in and leave everything clean.
PERIODS LESSON PLANS
ADVISORY 8:00 am 8:11 am (in my room 2014)
Please distribute any papers in mailbox that need to be given to students and take attendance. Dismiss the kids
orderly. Mrs. Postelnicu shares advisory with me so she will be in the classroom too for advisory.
P1 8:15 am 9:04 am PREPARATION TIME
This class is not used during this period this week. You can stay or you can also go to the teachers lounge. To
go to the teachers lounge you can exit the class to the right and go all the way down the hall. The teachers
lounge is the last door on your right. There is warm water for tea, etc. There are two fridges you can use to
store any food etc. and also a microwave. The coffee in the teachers lounge is for the Coffee Club but you can
buy it by the cup if you need.

Objectives and Agenda:
Spanish: Objectives Review
Agenda I. Bellringer preterite tense practice
II. Practice of the preterite and imperfect tenses Reading and writing.
III. Vocabulary related to stories and fables in Spanish.
Todays work This work is for students in Spanish IV and III. Students in Spanish III and IV have the same
work.
Activities - Students will complete the activities in their packets. They just need a pencil or pen. The first
activity is a bellringer stapled in their packet. They have to complete the sentence with the verb in brackets in
the right past conjugation. They can use their notes, books andverb charts for this but it should be done
individually and they know this. They are not allowed to ask for help for the bellringer.
The second part is a text with 61 verbs that need to be conjugated either in the preterite or imperfect. they have
a t-chart that explains when to use each of them. They need to decide and conjugate it in the right person. They
have to do the same with the following exercise. Then, if time allows it, they will fill in the two verb charges
with the verbs ir and hacer ATTENTION- I made a mistake and wrote tener but please let them know
it is in fact HACER. Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.
Students need to bring the whole 2 pages finished by tomorrow. This is imperative for Spanish III and IV.

Spanish: Objectives Review
Agenda I. Bellringer preterite tense practice with shopping vocabulary.
II. Practice of the preterite tense Vocabulary, reading and writing.
III. Vocabulary related to grocery shopping in Spanish.
Todays work This work is for students in Spanish II.
Activities - Students will complete the activities in their packets. The first is a bellringer that is in a loose
photocopy on top of the packages. Students need to complete each of the three sentences first with the verb in
brackets conjugated in the preterite tense and the second part needs to be vocabulary from the unit about
grocery shopping and shopping in general. Then, disctribute the package and ask students to complete 100%
pages 3, 4, and 5. In page 3 students look at pictures and identify what they are. They should try to list the
name in Spanish and English. On page 5 they have a text they need to read and then go to page 4 where they
have a list of the products in Spanish on the right and on the left they need to identify quantities and containers
used or way to measure or count the products as shown in the text they read. The first one is an example pan
= bread and barra de pan = loaf of bread. Have students work on this in their table teams. If time allows it,
have them move to page 5 exercise 1.3. where students need to write a shopping list for a party for 10 people
at their house. They need to use quantities and measurements in Spanish too. Have them move onto pg. 9
where they need to reflect on online shopping and read three texts about different people and their shopping
habbits. Then, complete the Verdadero (true) o Falso (false) comprehension exercise below. On page 11 they
are to write an email responding to the one they have there. It has to be in Spanish.

Mis amigos y yo 1.estamos en la casa de Miguel. 2. Es la medianoche y 3.estudiamos
para el examen de ingls que 4.tenemos el jueves. 5.Leemos en voz alta una obra de
Shakespeare. As 6.creemos entenderla mejor. Alfonso 7.tiene el papel del protagonista. Como

papeles diferentes. A m me 11.toca leer varios papeles y a Lorenzo tambin. Por eso
12.tratamos de cambiar la voz segn el papel.
De repente 13.oigo algo en la cocina. 14.Es un ruido raro. Casi me 15.parece que alguien nos
