The society got many advantages from modernity in terms of lifestyles, political systems, knowledge

and many more. Modernity helps the society to progress and evolve, that enhance them to open
time to explore new things, for example before this we enable to explore the world of bacteria, reach
up the moon, interpretation the knowledge very deeply and extensively. For example the innovation
of paper in China, help the knowledge and religious sector to be expend in the world society on that
time. The modernity usually challenge the society in much way, one of them is nationalism and
colonization period that breaks how the world operates before this. The type of modernity has give a
changes to society to adopt to new nature of the world , and all aspects of life in the society will be
change to adopt the new nature in the world. For example the winning of the war and colonization
of Russian in Iran during early 19 century has given Russian to occupy and take advantages Iran in
several ways of constitutional and economy emulate the modernity to the society and take

Since early 19 century, Iran faces the emulation/secularism in its society by the colonization and
world war era, that Iran also has been drag into it to challenge the traditionalist in Iran. For example
as we can see Iranian were also taking place indirectly in World War 2, that the society we leaning
towards supporting the Germany due to their adapted towards racial Ideology of Nazism and
American and British occupied Iran to ensure the land lease and strategically in deployment of

acceptance of modernity for example of German racial ideology or the occupation of British and

society.
As stated above, the most advance patterns of adaptation in Iran is emulation of secularism to its
society. There are many secularism or western educated politician in Iran from 1920 to 1950 that
shapes the politics in Iran such as Reza Palavi and his son Muhammad Reza Palavi , Mohammed
Mossadegh and so on. Most of the Islamic countries in the world adapt to western ideas due to
secularization for example is Turkey and Egypt. At first, Iran follows the same pattern with both
contries, but what happen is the overthrown of the Mohammed Mosaddegh that is Prime Minister of
Iran that is not o Yes Man politician to agree western ideas of Iran Oil industry (Video 5.4, 10.00).
After the reinstatement of the Monarchy, Mosaddegh still remain the symbol of Iranian nation that
heroically overthrown due to his opposition to the power that conspire to destroy the destiny of
Iranian nation.
In addition of that point, the success of Islamic revolution is how the Kleptrocracy that is form by the
Reza Palavi in early 50s that is totally challenge the society on that time . The revolution use a
populist and nationalist style movement as the brutality of the regime management in economic,
home affairs and the to keep welfare of the society. The management of the Shah of the conflicts is
totally coward and not following the rules of the international law seems makes there is many points
can be exploit by the Islamic Revolutionist to win the revolution. As we compare with other countries
for example Turkey and Egypt, they implemented the modernization by showing a welfare state and
how western is really fair and give justice to the society. But the situation is really different in Iran
hence the Islamist is capable to have victory in Islamic Revolution in modern Iranian history.
