This job profession is needed and will always be
needed. There will always be people in emergency situations and in need for help. People will always
need emergency medical help, or help in trauma situations.
The average entry wage is $14.91 per hour. The average yearly salary is 31,020 per year. The
only thing that would increase is the skill level you become. Your salary yearly would not change.
I chose this profession because I want to be able to help people in an emergency. Ive seen
everything my grandma has been through and I want to help people, like they did her. I dont care
whether its a medical emergency, trauma, or altered mental status; I just want to help. With past
experiences, I have seen what I am capable of doing, even in such a short period of time. Its worth it to
save lives, and help in any way possible. I want to be able to make a difference in someones life.
The total cost for the education for this profession is about $2,385. I looked at the tuition for JC
and it came out to $1,696 per year. Student services fee is $512. The class fee is $107. Its $70 to go and
take the national registry test.
