York
Dungeons
Come with us as we learn all about
Yorks haunting history. Henry VIII
is coming to Yorkshire with a score
to settle. Will you be able to stand
against the kings soldiers and
survive? Not for the fainthearted or
those with a nervous disposition,
you will scream, jump and laugh.
Following the dungeons, you can
recover in York City itself and enjoy
its historical Roman architecture,
cobbled streets and perhaps even
stop off for afternoon tea at the
famous Bettys Tea Shop'.
Sunday 11th May, meet on
Durham Road at 08:00, 17.
The ticket includes travel and
admission to York Dungeons. The
coach will depart York at 17:30.
Journey time approx 1.5 hours.

Lake District Explorer
This is a coach tour of the Lake District National Park with a professional local tour guide. The most green and
pleasant corner of England, the Lake District National Park is the largest most spectacular and most visited
national park in Britain. Our first stop is Bowness-on-Windermere, right on the shores of Lake Windermere.
Here, well meet our tour guide, then take a short boat cruise on Englands longest lake to Ambleside a
picturesque village with stunning mountain scenery. Our next stop will be Grasmere, a peaceful village which
was once the home of William Wordsworth where you will visit St. Oswalds church, the Wordsworth graves and
the famous Grasmere Gingerbread shop. Then onward by coach to Keswick, where you will have time to shop
and have lunch. We then drive eastwards to Ullswater, a gorgeous lake with dramatic scenery where we will drive
along the shore over to the spectacular Kirkstone Pass and back to Windermere for your coach journey back
to Sheffield. Dont miss out on this chance to sample the delights of the English countryside with the services
of a professional tour guide providing plenty of information. Please bring a water proof jacket and wear
sensible walking shoes.
Sunday 4th May, meet on Durham Road at 07:00, 26. The ticket includes travel, a lake cruise and the
services of a tour guide. The coach will depart Windermere at 17:00. Journey time approx 3 hours

Oxford Whitby
Uncover the hidden treasures that
Oxford has to offer this summer as
we visit this glorious city once more.
Oxford, the city of dreaming spires
is steeped in rich and fascinating
history and is home to Oxford
University and its 38 colleges.
There are many recognisable sites
in Oxford, Oxford was a popular
location for the Harry Potter films.
Climb to the top of Oxford Tower and
take in the breathtaking views that
inspired J.R.R Tolkein and Lewis
Carrol or enjoy a peaceful punting
ride down the river.
Saturday 3rd May, meet on
Durham Road at 08:00, 18. The
coach will depart Oxford at 17:30.
Journey time approx 3 hours.

Whitby is a seaside town on the
North Yorkshire coast and is full of
history and myths. Whitby Abbey
inspired Bram Stokers Dracula,
where Dracula himself is said to
have transformed into a dog and
climbed the 100 stairs to the top
of the cliff. Youll find a plethora of
creative studios and art galleries in
Whitby and its neighbouring coastal
and country villages. You can walk
through the quaint cobbled shopping
streets, get fish and chips or enjoy
an ice cream on the beach.
Saturday 10th May, meet on
Durham Road at 08:00, 14. The
coach will depart Whitby at 17:30.

Alnwick Castle
Alnwick Castle is one of the largest inhabited castles in England
and is situated between Newcastle and Edinburgh. Home
to the Duke of Northumberlands family for over 700 years,
Alnwick castle is steeped in history and was the lm location
for Harry Potters Hogwarts in two of the lms. Alnwick boasts
sumptuousstate rooms,lled with remarkable art and furniture,
including one of the countrys nest private art collections
including works by Canaletto, Titan and Van Dyke. During the visit
we can enjoy these pieces of art in a private State Room tour.
Saturday 17th May, meet on Durham Road at 08:00, 25.
The ticket includes travel, admission to castle and grounds
and the private state room tour. The coach will depart
Alnwick Castle at 17:00. Journey time approx 3.5 hours.

Cambridge
The picturesque city of Cambridge
is famous for its University, which
is one of the oldest in the world.
Come with us as we head back
to Cambridge. You can take a
walk around the backs of the
colleges for some stunning views
especially looking towards
Kings College Chapel from across
the river. Youll have free time to
explore the city, perhaps by punting
along the River Cam - a very
popular Cambridge activity and a
great way to see the sights. Or why
not visit some of Cambridges many
museums and galleries?

coach will depart Cambridge at

Alton Towers Blackpool The Deep, Hull
Escape to the Alton Towers Resort in 2014 and experience the worlds
first 14 looping rollercoaster, The Smiler, guaranteed to marmalise your
body and mind with twisted psychological effects featuring plunging
drops of 30 metres, a ride time of 165 seconds and a track length 3x
the length of Oblivion! Alongside The Smiler is a line-up of adrenalin-
pumping coasters including the iconic Nemesis and Oblivion, Rita,
TH13TEEN and Air.
Daily from Monday 9th June to Sunday 15th June. Meet on Durham
Road at 08:00, 35. The coach will depart Alton Towers at 17:30.
You must have a valid NUS card or your Ucard to purchase a ticket.

Oh I do like to beside the seaside. Britains favourite
seaside resort is crammed with thrills and excitement,
making every visit a fun-filled adventure. You can visit
the Zoo, the sealife centre, Blackpool Tower - cest
magnifique, go shopping, catch a theatre show, head
to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and enjoy thrilling rides,
visit one of Blackpools many art galleries and heritage
centres, or relax on the beach with a bag of chips and an
ice cream.
Sunday 18th May, meet on Durham Road at 08:00,
12. The coach will depart Balckpool at 17:00. Journey

The Deep is one of the most spectacular aquariums
in the world and is home to a whopping 3,500
fish including Europes only pair of green sawfish,
spectacular sharks and rays and new for 2014 a
colony of Gentoo penguins. After the aquarium you will
have free time to explore Hull, UKs city of culture 2017.
The cobbled streets of the city's Old Town transports
you back to days gone by. Visit Hulls Museums Quarter,
home to some free museums, and plot Hull's course
through the history books.
Saturday 24th May, meet on Durham Road ay 09:00,
22. Ticket includes travel and entry to The Deep. The
coach will depart Hull at 17:00. Journey time approx

Treasure Hunt
Europe: Bulgaria Rough It 2014
Treasure Hunt Europe is
back! Starting in Sofia,
inter-rail around Bulgaria
from city to city on a
country-wide treasure hunt
then finish by partying on the
beach in Varna. Take part in teams
of between two and five; score the most
points to be in with a chance of winning
400! Ticket includes end party/club, end
hostel, inter-rail pass, t-shirt, T.H.E guide, socials,
fundraising support and more. T.H.E charities this
year: Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Lowes Syndrome
Trust and Blind Veterans UK.

Rough It is an outdoor sleepover on the Union
Concourse on Saturday 10th May to raise money
and awareness of homelessness and destitution
in Sheffield. After its previous success, Rough
It is back again, bigger and better than ever!!!
Ticket includes survival pack, cardboard and
ground sheet, entertainment and not forgetting
the PIZZA DELIVERY to keep you going!! Free
tea/coffee/hot chocolate will be provided and
the union will remain open to use the facilities.

and your Society/ Club too!
RAGs Adopt a Charity scheme
supports clubs, societies and individuals
to help you fundraise for charities of
your choice. You can also claim back up
to 50% of your fundraising for your club
or society too! We can help with things
including booking venues, budgeting,
planning, bake sales, permits and
collections, charity resources and
marketing. Last year we worked with
over 110 student groups raising money
for over 100 different charities.

to buy online at

Tickets MUST be purchased in
ADVANCE; you cannot turn up and pay
on the door. Demand for Give it a Go
is massive and events can sell out
very quickly; please buy your ticket
early to avoid disappointment!
All tickets purchased are non-
refundable and cannot be exchanged
or transferred over to other Give it a
Go events.

CHILD-FRIENDLY TICKETS
The child-friendly logo beside selected
day trips allows student parents to take
their children on these trips for 2 less
than the normal price! Just ask at the
Box Ofce.
WOMENS MINIBUS
For evening activities in
the Students Union, the
Womens Minibus will take you
home to your door anywhere within
a 2-mile radius of the Union. The
service runs at half past every hour
and tickets cost just 1.50 from the
Students Union Box Office.
