Brief Story of Sh. Darshan Singh Sidhu
Sh. Darshan Singh Sidhu of the Malwa region of village Rampura district Bathinda, Punjab. e
is among those farmers of Punjab who have adopted the advance techni!ues of farming leaves
the traditional ones. "fter completing his graduation he did not run after the job what he was
curious to do the farming with advance techni!ues and made it good profitable source of
income.
#irstly he adopted the traditional techni!ues of cultivation but after few years innovating
those techni!ues he developed conventional techni!ue under the guidelines of Punjab
"gricultural $niversity %udhiana. e grows Potato, Mai&e, Rice and 'egetables. e produced
on an average () *uintals of Mai&e, +), !uintals of Potato, () !uintals Rice and around -,
!uintals 'egetables./ucurbits0 Per acre.
1ew variety of Potato seeds have also been directly made available to the farmers. Potato
and Mai&e are sold directly in the mar2ets and rice and vegetables are sent to local mar2et.
Residues of mai&e is also use as fodder for animals. $pset over the rising Pollution emanating
from the burning of Paddy stuble.

3his 3ractor 4perated paddy straw /hopper machine to minimi&e Problems of associated with
burning of Paddy Straw having wor2ed our two year own the machine. 1ow it can be used
efficiently and handling crop residue specifically for the maintaining soil and human health. 3he
Machine in a single operation combine chops the Paddy Straw and spreads it into the field. 3he
machine could chop paddy straw of 5 to 6 acres in a day. 3he /hoped Paddy straw is mi7ed in
soil by using deep plough, Rotavator and finely with /ultivator. 8t also helps to retaining the
micro nutrients as well as natural fertility of the soil and save the environment from the pollution.
