Introduction
Megapulse FORCE is a new generation of pulse induction metal detecting
instruments.
The pulse induction system is developed to automatically retune so that changes
in the ground minerali!ation and unwanted metal targets are eliminated. The unit
wor"s at great depths and ranges by smooth and stable operation from the control
unit in automatic motion mode.
<hat=s Pulse Induction and ho; does it <or0>
#n the past most detectors use continuous wave technology. $nfortunately a
continuous wave detector%s sensitivity is better on small metal targets &buttons
coins soda tabs' and has only a detection range of about ( meter or ( yard. #n
continuous wave technology smaller coils of appro)imately ((* diameter have a
specific and small range of ob+ects which are detected well. ,ou would need
enormous amounts of metal to increase continuous wave technology%s limits.
-art of new and e)citing pulse induction techology the Megapulse FORCE wor"s
using a magnetic field caused by short pulses. The ((* search coil and the low
fre.uency applied ma"e it capable of penetrating deep into the ground. $sing
pulse induction the Megapulse FORCE search coil sends out short magnetic
pulses and produces a strong magnetic field above the ground. The magnetic field
induces eddy currents in the metal ob+ects to be detected. These currents generate
a secondary electromagnetic field which flows outward from the target. /
portion of this secondary field passes through the antenna winding of the
Megapulse FORCE and produces a signal. The Megapulse FORCE processes
this signal and tells the operator where targets are with an increased tic"ing rate
and meter response.
/dditionally the timely decoupling between the transmitting and receiving
phases allows the Megapulse FORCE to wor" with an increased transmitting and
receiving power as well. $nli"e continuous wave technology the Megapulse
FORCE%s pulse induction coils can be increased to almost any si!e so that a large
long ranging magnetic field would be built up. %

also the e&pected capacity of the accumulator.
The built(in charge system is specially designed from DeepTech and is from
)intelegent charge systems) type, co*ered the charge to +,,- and also the
protecting the accumulator from o*ercharging. This system "atches the charge
paramters and after reaching the optimum parameters automaticly s"itches the
accumulator to dropcharge and in this state it can stay for a long time "ithout a
ris. of damage. The charge system has a built(in reley, protecting the system
"hen stopping the charging for different reasons. With starting the charging for
the second time, the charge system obligatory goes through the "hole cycle and if
the accumulator has been charged, the cycle finishes fast. During the main
charging there is a /ED lighting and it goes out after the charging finishes. 0t1s a
good practise to lea*e it on dropcharge at least for 2 more hours, so it "ill reach

The loop cable is embedded in -DC tubes and can be assembled for use or
dismantled for transportation easily and .uic"ly. The concentrated magnetic field
of the coil allows an e)cellent detection range on relatively small metal ob+ects.
Targets the si!e of a cash bo) are clearly detected from distances of =-> feet.
2arger targets li"e a large metal treasure chest can be detected at a range of up to

F 4earching with the Megapulse FORCE is easy when two persons bring the
standard search coil. One of them carries the electronics bo) &at the opposite to
the search coil side and trying to "eep the electronics bo) as possibly far from the
search coilGs frame' watching the indications and ma"ing ad+ustments during
operation.
F ,ou should not carry watches belt buc"les or metal plates in your shoes as they
could cause false signals if close to the search coil.
F Hal" normally and if the terrain allows it carry the search coil at a lowest
possible and constant level operational height over the ground.
F 4mall shallow metal ob+ects will produce two pea"s of the tic"ing rate@meter
deflection. 2ifting the search coil a few inches higher could cut out such small
si!ed ob+ects. There are some trashy areas where bringing the coil higher would
be advantageous. / mid-si!ed metal ob+ect buried at one meter or so will give a
very clear distinguishable indication. / large metal target deep in the ground will
cause a long indication over a larger area than the smaller metal ob+ects.
F Hith some practice you may be able to estimate the depth &shallow targets
only' the si!e and even the form of the target detected. The best way of getting
ac.uainted with your detector and its responses to different metal targets is to
locate your buried metal pipes around your home. Of course the reaction of the
detector would be much better if the metal targets have been buried in the ground
for a longer period of time &li"e 7A to ;A yrs'. Hal" the test area ma"ing sure that
you are passing all the way through the target until the unit is .uiet again. Ma"e
necessary ad+ustments to your detector and tune it carefully away from the
targets. Try to carry the coil 6-<* high if the terrain allows that. -ass over your
buried utilities. Eote the differences between the indications of the targets.
F 8eing in /utomatic Mode stop over one of your targets. #n few seconds the
detector will tune itself to this metal ob+ect and you%ll no longer be able to 9see*
the target. ,ouGll then be aware of that through the tic"ing rate which has
already become normal as set by the manufacturer for the /utomatic Mode.
Move aside. -ass over the same target this time not stopping your movement
over it and the detector will register it again. 4o donGt stop the search coilGs
77
movement over a metal target while operating your detector in /utomatic Mode.
F Hhile testing the detector please note the following0
I Try to "eep a constant operational height of the search coil.
I The detector is very stable while in its /utomatic Mode of operation.
F Megapulse FORCE successfully compensates the effects of the changes of the
search coilGs operational height and retunes automatically to the changes in the
ground conditions and to the slowly changing e)ternal electromagnetic fields.
I Megapulse FORCE is a typical motion detector. This means that the search coil
should be moved over and through the metal target if you stop your
movement then the detector will automatically retune itself and youGll
loose the target.
I The loss of depth during the operation in the /utomatic Mode could be
due to incorrect tuning of the detector.
Interference
F #n most of the cases interference is due to magnetic disturbances li"e power
lines and may ma"e detection difficult. 5eavy current cables nearby could cause
severe interference. Magnetic effects of soil and its high minerali!ation could
also cause interfering signals. To reduce them you will have to ad+ust for
interference.
Maintenance
F :o not store the detector if the device is wet or dirty. Beep the connectors and
+ac"s dry and clean. #n case of malfunction first chec" the battery voltage and the
cable connections. Repair wor" should be carried out only by trained personnel.
#ne)perienced intervention would cause e)piry of the warranty.
F Tampering with the seals will void any and all warranties. Either e)pressed or
implied. $nit has no user serviceable parts. $nit has no internal batteries.
7.
Hatteries
F He suggest using a Multi-Meter to test the battery voltage prior to using
instrument.
F ,ou should be able to run the instrument for (<-6A hours prior to recharging the
batteries. Charging time on empty battery is a ma)imum of >-(A hours.
F 4tore your e.uipment in a clean dry place. E)cessive moisture may cause
damage to your e.uipment. Traveling from a cold area to a hot area may cause
condensation. #f the conditions for condensation are present give the e.uipment
time to ad+ust prior to turning on.

!roubleshooting
Q. My unit does not maintain its ground balance.
1 Chec" the battery. #n most cases an undercharged battery will cause this to
happen.

There could be spots of mineral content that you are trying to balance device
over.
- or K
Hhen balancing unit you are holding the unit too high off the ground or
directly on the ground. 5old coil (6*J(<* &6;cm to 7;cm' above ground to
balance initially.
Q. 0 found a metal ob3ect, re(tuned my detector, no" it is gone. Why4
1 ,ou re-tuned the detector while still in the field of the metal target. ,ou have
discriminated out the target you were loo"ing for.

Q. 0 cannot get the unit ground balanced.
1 /d+ust the #nterference. #t is possible that you are too close to an electrical
source and the source will have to be tuned out by turning the "nob either to the
left or the right.
Q. My battery connection .eeps coming loose.
1 Hith battery disconnected open the two prongs on the control unit to allow for
better battery contact.
Q. Detector beeps and there is no target. Why4
1 Minerals with round and s.uare coil are patchy sound and usually are not
identifiable more than twice.

Jote:
This device is designed for detecting deeply buried or lost metal ob+ects metal
pipes underground communication e.uipment treasures and similar ob+ects. The
unit wor"s by the principle of electromagnetic induction at very low fre.uency
which allows penetration deeply in the ground. 4oil conditions vary from area to
area and actual depth may vary depending on the dielectric properties. The depth
combined with iron ob+ect discrimination automatic tuning and the choice of
different regimes for searching ma"e the unit hardly replaceable in a lot of
situations.
