Welcome to Cedar Church! This morning Pastor Steve concludes
his sermon series on Songs for the Journey The Psalms of Ascent
(120-134). We will also recognize our graduates and enjoy a
fellowship luncheon right after our morning worship service. In the
evening, we welcome Pastor Chris Post to the pulpit.

OFFERING

Benevolent Offering - Thank you for your generous giving.
$351.00 was received for The Calvinist Cadet Corps last Sunday.
Next week our benevolent offering will be received for Cedars
Deacon Fund. Currently this fund is at $3,599.53. The deacons
have set a goal of $5,000.00 for this fund in order to have adequate
resources available to help those in need.

ANNOUNCEMENTS


Graduation Sunday Today Cedar Church will
recognize our graduating high school seniors during
the morning service with a special gift Bible.
Graduating high school seniors this year are Cayte Baker and
Megan Himebook. Our post high graduates include Rachel
Himebook (Medical Massage Therapy Certification from Blue
Heron Academy), Carmen VanDyke (Doctor of Physical Therapy
from Northwestern), and Daniel VanDyke (Masters in Library
Science fromthe University of Illinois). Please offer your heartiest
congratulations to these students.


ANNOUNCEMENTS

Missions Meeting Today! Do you have a heart for missions?
Would you like to be part of a group that meets to encourage
missions both at home and abroad? David VanDyke, the
chairman of our newly formed Missions Committee,
invites you to join himtoday right after the fellowship
meal for a short (40 minute), one-time meeting to get
ideas, seek feedback, and learn fromthose with previous
experience. This meeting will include plans for organizing a
missions committee, but has no obligation to join the committee.

Summer Small Group Ministries Sign up today for a small
group this summer. Signing up helps in planning and ordering
materials. See the insert in todays bulletin for more details.

Childcare Needed Would you consider helping out the Young
Adult Bible study this summer? Childcare is needed while they
meet at Hager Park. This could be a family project, a small group
project or several individuals joining together. Please consider
volunteering for one of their meetings. Sign up at the table today.

Baptism On Sunday, May 25, Cedar session is excited to
announce that Micah James Mason will be baptized during the
morning worship service. Give thanks to the Lord for His
protection in Micahs life and pray for his spiritual as well as
physical growth!

Presbytery Young Adult Event- Young Adults (Post High) you
are invited to a time of relaxation and fellowship at the Lake Effect
Cottage, Holland, MI on May 30 through June 1st. It sits close to
the beaches and waves of Lake Michigan. There will be a
devotional time on "the Purpose of Fellowship" and the event will
conclude with worship and a meal at New Life OPC of Holland.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Kickball Tournament - A friendly game of kickball in
Connecticut ended after 345 innings with a score of 164-117 and a
Guinness world record! It is NOT our goal to beat that record. It
is our goal, however, to have fun with our church family
in a rousing game of kickball. If the weather agrees,
well play outside. If not, well be in the gymeither
way, itll be great fun with variations thrown into the
mix.

Summer Missionary Cedar session is pleased to announce that
Ben VanDyke has been appointed to serve as male student director
of Spartan Christian Fellowships Summer Training Project in
Petoskey, MI. As a ministry of University Reformed Church in
East Lansing, this 11 week mission trip provides evangelism
training, outreach projects, Christian mentoring, daily Bible study
and prayer, and discipleship relationships with older students and
staff. Students will also be involved in part-time employment
during this project, which will cover a portion of their mission trip
expenses. Please keep Ben in your prayers as he raises up prayer
partners and additional financial supporters for this worthwhile
summer mission. If you would like to support Ben with prayer

this summer!

GENERAL ASSEMBLY ACTIVITIES JUNE 4-10

Pre-Assembly Conference - Please consider coming to the pre-
Assembly conference on Evangelism, to be held June 4, at
Redeemer OPC in Ada. Continental breakfast at 8:00 amwith
conference sessions from 9:00 am through 2:00 pm (lunch
provided as well). There is no charge for the conference (or meals)
but preregistration is required. Please email gregg.1@opc.org to
register.

Youth Fellowship with Pastor Jon Shishko A picnic is
planned for the youth going to New York City and their parents on
June 7th, 5-9 p.m. at the Baker home. Pastor Jon will be
in town for General Assembly and will be joining the
youth for an opportunity to get to know each other and to
share plans for the project this summer .

Joint Worship Service There will a joint evening worship
service for this year's General Assembly and the local OPC
churches, organized by the Session of Redeemer OPC, Ada. The
service will be held at 6pmon Sunday, June 8th at the DeVos
Center for Arts and Worship, on the campus of Grand Rapids
Christian High School.

Joint Choir Redeemer OPC would like to have a joint choir with
members from area OPC congregations for the joint worship
service. To facilitate this choir, they have scheduled two
Wednesday evening practices, one on May 21 and the other on
June 4 at 7:00 PM at Redeemer. There will be a final practice on
June 8 before the service at 4:30 PM at the DeVos Center. Please

Fellowship Lunch The fellowship lunch in J une will include
many special guests fromaround the country. Commissioners to

General Assembly will be invited to join us for worship

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Do you enjoy budgeting? Love INC is looking for individuals or
couples to volunteer as a budget coach for the Loving Help
Program. Budget Coaches work one-on-one with individuals or
couples two hours a week. If you are interested please contact
Diane or Mary with the LOVING HELP Programat 616-662-3300
for more information.

Volunteer Opportunities - The Sorting Warehouse at Love INC
is looking for individuals to volunteer either a half-day or full day
any day of the week. Individuals who enjoy greeting people as
well as organizing and sorting items would be a great fit for this
position. The Clothing Ministry at Loves Treasures is also
looking for individuals to volunteer on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Training will be provided. If you are interested in learning more,
contact Tonia at toniaw@loveinthenameofchrist.org.

Items Needed - Love In the Name of Christ has the opportunity to
help supply items for a week long Christian camp for teenage
moms, their mentors and their children. In order to help, we are in
need of 540 each travel size shampoos, conditioners, lotions, and
toothpaste, toothbrushes, bars of soap and combs. Also needed are
90 bottles of baby shampoo, baby lotion, tubes of diaper ointment,
135 baby bottles and sippy cups, 225 baby bibs and 90 wash
clothes. If you are able to provide a portion of these items, please
bring themto the Love INC main office, Attn: Tonia (3300 Van
Buren, Hudsonville) by June 30. Tax receipt forms are available.

Volunteers Needed for Kids Day - Are you between the ages of
14 & 84? Would you like to be part of a fun community outreach
event? Then come volunteer at Kids Day on Saturday, June 14, at
the Hudsonville Fairgrounds. This is the 5th year Jehovah J ireh
Ministries is organizing this family friendly event. In order for it to
happen, we need LOTS of volunteers. You can help set up, do a
game or activity, help in the food court, or help tear down. Most
jobs can be 2-3 hour shifts. Please contact us at 896-1570,
