CHRONICLES OF LIFE: GENESIS

PROLOGUE - Secrets
Billions of years ago, the Void was the only existing force in the entire universe.
Was there even a universe to begin with?
Good question. No, just an e!ty state of things, a vast s!ace to shelter nothingness.
"t was cold, it resonated silence, lifeless. #ertainly you can$t call it a universe. %ou
see, this went on for a cou!le of billions of years until the Great &ight a!!eared.
What is this Great &ight?
Now, just li'e the Void, it cae to be, un'nowingly, existing all of a sudden and no
one not even the ost 'nowledgeable being can ex!lain it. (he Great &ight, in theory,
eru!ted such iense agnitude of )nti*Void !ro!erties. "t countered the
nothingness found in every noo' and cranny of the un'nown. +i!ly !ut, it re!laced
the dar'ness with light. ) little clich, don$t you thin'?
Very, but did the Great &ight co!letely do so vanish the Void?
-f course, the Void resisted. .ow? "t also tried to banish the Great &ight by clashing
its own atoic !articles to that of the intruding force.
/ar' 0atter1
Well, yes, as our ancestors called it, but we now call it 2ero &ight. (he Void used this
dar' energy and clashed it on every single one of the Great &ight$s own atoic
!articles, the 3l!is &ight. When 2ero &ight and 3l!is &ight collide, they destroy one
another. )nd when the latter shatters, the Great &ight wea'ens while the destruction
of the forer does not affect the Void at all.
/id the Void succeed?
"f it did, then why do we exist?
1
(he Void lost, when everything sees at !ar, and that nothingness can be viewed
afar, it becae evident that the Great &ight won by one.
" don$t understand anyore, by one what?
-ne !article that started it all. (he ost acce!ted story now, one debated by our
ancestors for centuries, those who desired 'nowledge and wanted to understand
everything called it the &one 4article, a very s!ecial ty!e of 3l!is &ight that was, in
theory, !laced far away fro the clash that it survived and so grew at an astonishing
rate. "t was the building bloc' of the universe. (hey say we were ade of it. 3ach
atoic !article is a face of the original 3l!is &ight. (erra, +ol, &una, and the rest of
the stars and heavenly objects are also ade of that surviving &one 4article.

(here is, of course, another story, and one that ay sha'e you a bit, Nicholas.
Well "$ already having goose bu!s dad. " didn$t 'now that a ere assignent
could be so e!ic and arguably interesting.
)nd we are not even through half of it yet. "$ sur!rised that you are able to catch u!
with all these dee! ters "$ tal'ing about.
.uh6 /on$t start to flatter e dad, there is a reason why " get those straight )$s.
)nd "$ so !roud of your innate intelligence. %our giving the +erafie nae such a
good highlight.
"t$s all because of you dad. "$ li'e you.
Now you$re starting to flatter e s!ort. No, no1.it could coe fro your other or
could be fro your uncle !erha!s?
)nyway, dad, ind telling e about the other story?
)h6 %es, " nearly forgot about that, before " share that to you.
Dad stood up and began to pace slowly toward the large glass windows. These
surrounded my entire private study room. It offered a nice view of the city at this hour
of night and the mountain ranges looked like sharp, crooked teeth in the background.
I always feared that one day New Terra would be swallowed by a dormant sea
monster called Charybdis. I read about it in the ncient rchives and I saw a picture
of it as well. I !ust compared its sharp teeth to the mountain ranges encircling the
city. They looked the same. Then dad assured me that monsters don"t e#ist in places
where they are not meant to e#ist. lthough he commended me for that sort of
brilliant imagination. $e also told me that New Terra was already swallowed by a
monster and I think he meant the changes brought by uncle. I don"t know why dad
disliked uncle since then. %y uncle was a very important man in New Terra. $is
contributions were many and most of the people en!oyed the newfound security,
technology, leisure, and society. &ut maybe he disliked uncle for one particular
change, an ancient system was replaced by a new system planned and structured
solely by uncle and it tapped one of the most sensitive sectors in New Terra, and that
became the most controversial change of them all.'
Nicholas, "$ ready to tell you.
What$s that in your hand?
"t$s just one of your uncle$s toys " borrowed. "t is su!!osed to absorb sound eitting
fro the voice box, a'ing anyone unable to hear what " a about to say to you even
if he sat by the couch over there. "ngenious, your uncle. )nd sorry if " have to close
the curtains, " 'now how uch you love the oonlight.
/ad, is this other story, a secret your not su!!osed to tell?
7
Well, secrets, Nicholas, can soeties shed light, and you deserve to 'now it before
you have your new nae toorrow, before its too late.
