INSTALLATION

OF
SAGE INTERNATIONAL, LTD.
TS87O TELESCOPING STOCK
To install your Sage International, Ltd. TS870 telescoping stock, the following procedure should be
followed. The procedures set forth apply to the Remington Model 870 Shotgun. The S&W 3000 Pump
Shotgun closely follows the Remington 870 installation. The installation steps axe as follows:
1. Push the safety to the " on " position. Unload the Shotgun and make sure the gun is clear.
2. Rernove the butt stock
3. Remove the hexagonal receiver stud (Remington part number I 855 I
)
4. Replace the Remington receiver stud with the Sage International, Ltd. Stud provided. Be sure to
screw in the replacement stud so the lip of the stud adjacent to the threaded portion of the stud
being screwed into the receiver touches the back of the receiver. This will create a flat surface so
the TSST0stockcan be butted up against the rear ofthe shotgun receiver.
5. With the TS870 stock in the fully collapsed position (as it was delivered to you), remove the two
strut stops (5/16-18 x 3/8" button head cap screws) from the protruding struts.
6. Follow the procedure outlined in section 1 (operational procedures) and move the telescoping butt
stock portion of the TS870 Telescoping stock to the rearward position.
7. Once the TS870 Telescoping Stock has clicked into the firing position, reach up and depress the
stock actuating lock bolt (the large round screw with the Allen key orifice positioned around the
top ofthe square part of the stock body). Gently pull the telescoping butt stock portion of the
TS870 telescoping stock assembly rearward. You should now have the pistol grip/stock body in
one hand and the telescoping butt stock assembly in the other hand.
8. Lay the Telescoping butt stock portion of the TS870 Telescoping stock down in an area not
affected by your work. Be sure not to loose the two stop screws which you removed in step # 5.
9. Unscrew the stock actuating lock bolt. You will note that once it is unscrewed a
jam nut prevents
the stock actuating lock bolt from coming straight out of the top of the stock body. Reach inside
the stock body with a Vz" box wrench and insert the
j
am nut into the wrench while turning the
stock actuation lock bolt with a 3/16 Allen wrench. Care must be exercised not to lose the internal
tooth washer and the stock lock bar which are sandwiched between the stock actuating lock
bolUjam nut and the actuating spring retaining cup.
10. Once the lock actuating lock bolt
jam
nut has been fully unscrewed, simply pull the stock
actuating lock bolt upward and remove. Care should be taken not to loose the stock actuating lock
boltjam nut.
I l. Using a
t/o"
Allenwrench remove the pistol grip from the stock body. At this point the stock
actuating spring and stock actuating spring retaining cup should come free. Do not loose these
parts.
