House, creates the Deepwater Horizon
Economic Damages Collection Fund and
deposits into the fund from proceeds of the
settlement, judgment or final disposition of
the state's economic damages claims asserted
in State of Louisiana v. British Petroleum
Exploration & Production to recover

economic damages sustained by the state from


the Deepwater Horizon explosion and oil spill.
The legislation provides for the deposit
of settlement proceeds into the Budget
Stabilization Fund and the Medicaid Trust
Fund for the Elderly.
SURPLUS ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Senate Bill 614, pending House floor
action, allows any political subdivision of the
state to transfer surplus electronic devices to a
nonprofit entity that is certified by R-2
Solutions or the e-Stewards Initiative.
