Feasibility Analysis:
Technical Feasibility:
Looking at the technical requirements, creating both the website and the application
will not cost as much since we are not hosting it on our own. To host the website, we
used GoDaddy as a web host and for the application it will be determined by the
programmers. The hardware devices will be required for the office space, and certain
software tools as well. Hardware includes PCs and network devices (Internet) as well
as an ISP (Etisalat). The technical aspect will be achieved, since we can acquire all
the technical element and devices.
Economic Feasibility:
Understanding the benefits and doubts of the business, we do strongly believe that
over time our company would be successful and unique in what we do. The costs in
our case are split between regular financial cost and opportunity cost. If we were to
have other alternative options rather than the event concept than that would the
opportunity cost of choosing event. In our case, the ideas varied from different
industries, thus choosing the service (Event) industry means that we gave up the
opportunity of joining other industries. The benefits may not be with the first set of
quarters, but would be more long term since the idea introduced will not be trusted.
(The issue of online trust is a major issue within the region) The long term expected
returns are going to astonishing and revenues may reach its potential expectancy.
Thus the idea is economically feasible.
Financial Feasibility:
In terms of revenues and cost, for the first four quarters will be facing a loss as the
costs would exceed the revenues. The main reason is that we are a start up and startup
costs were high. In the second year onwards, we will be functioning at a profit as we
are expecting more demand in the market and an increase in potential customers. So is
it financially feasible? Yes it is financially feasible even though we will make a loss
in the first year. Essentially, after the first year loss we are expected to have made
profits, thus we believe it is financially feasible.
Legal Feasibility:
Legal requirements are obeying the laws of having a start up within the region and
oblige to the copyright laws. The local law is that a business must file for a business
license to function and exist. In the UAE, you can either be a permanent
establishment or go through a commercial agency. In our case, we will be a
permanent establishment and function as Limited Partnership. This also means we
will a branch (Office space) and have an entity in the free zone. Therefore, we will
conduct our business illegally. The copyrights laws are clear and if we were to use
applications such as Google Maps than we will use it through API. We will not be
doing anything illegally hence our company would legally feasible.
Operational Feasibility:
The suppliers of the event include catering services, food supplier (If not provided by
hotel), hotel space, and transportation services. All of these operational features are
feasible since we are able to pay during the transaction. Therefore once a customer
pays, the cost of operational activities is included within the price.
Hardware and Software requirements:
The hardware requirements are basics network requirements such as server,
switches and PCs as mentioned in Exhibit (Number) in the appendix. The Exhibit
(Number) also mentions the software requirements such MS Office and Oracle
databases. The antivirus is included as part of the deal with the PC as well as the
operating software. (Windows 7).
