The top US Pacific forces commander has just sounded the alarm that

war could erupt between China and Vietnam any day now or at any
moment now. This is quite a very refreshing change from the usual
or all!time favourite night!"!day non!stop clamour about immediate
hell brea#ing loose between China and Taiwan $
The US commander claims that the oil rig clash in the Chinese!held
%isha &slands could soon lead to blows because there is still not any
legally binding non!aggression pact made between the two nations.
&t is not highly e'aggerated to say that the US has far more than just
a mere passing interest in Chinese oil rig(s) in the South China Sea.
*merican leaders and their media have always been very concerned
with Chinese oil rigs even the non!e'istent ones in the +lorida Straits.
China,s growing economy is in need of ever more oil and it is in the
interest of the US (especially the US military) to curtail her supply.
So the US is saying loudly - ./ar is about to brea# out. 0atten down
your hatches (oil your guns get your money out of the stoc# mar#ets
and put them all into US bonds to churn out lots of oil rig!busters).1
The US Pacific forces now want to e'pand its military contacts with
Vietnam in the great e'pectation that such a move would encourage
2anoi to wallop its northern neighbour at the earliest opportunity.
*fter China wallops bac# the Pacific forces could quic#ly start acting
to sei3e all outlying Chinese!held islands while the /hite 2ouse and
the State 4ept or the 5ustice 4ept could start free3ing6sei3ing China,s
assets in the US. So now the picture has become very much clearer.
The big picture about why the US is so eager to fan the flames of war
in east *sia (and other regions). /ar has always been very profitable.
