2 THE HOLOGRAPHIC EDUCATION INTRODUCTION I believe that education should be made more accessible to those who find it a difficulty to access it. In rural areas there are many cases in which children struggle to get a proper education due the immense travel time, lack of schooling and overall the accessibility of education. The Box is a product that will provide the needs of education through a hologram that will teach children what they need to know. This technological advancement will make sure that children can get an education wherever they are. 3. BUSINESS SECTION 3.1 Vision Education to be more accessible to those children who live in rural areas through technology such as holograms. 3.2 Industry Analysis: Hologram Industry Industry: The industry that the Box will operate in is the Hologram Industry. Force: High/Low: Justification: Buyer power: High Buyer power for Holograms would be high because there are many choices of whom consumers can buy from. (Wikipedia, 2014) Supplier power: Low Supplier Power will be low due to consumers having many choices of whom to buy these products from. (Wikipedia, 2014) Threat of substitutes: Low Threat of new subsitutes are low because there are few altrenatives to this product that provides
3
3 them with this service. Threat of new entrants: Low Threat of new entrants would be low because their a lot of barriers of entry. This is because the capital cost to design a hologram is a phenominal price. (MTV, 2012) Rivalry among existing competitors: High Rivalry among exisiting competitors are high because there are many competitors competing in the market for dominance over providing holograms. (Wikipedia, 2014) Overall attractiveness of the industry: This industry is unattractive because there are many companies in this industry and it is a highly competitive market with high costs therefore high risks of failure. 3.3 Customers and Thei r Needs Children who live in rural areas will be the main customer for this product. The main problem with children who are living in rural areas is the lack of schooling provided to them through education being distant as well as time consuming for the individual (Stevens, 1992). This leads to a lack of motivation and under-developing and thus creating flow on effects. This produt conteracts all that by highlighting their needs for it and making education readily accessible to them by providing them with the information thorugh holographic technology. 3.4 The Product and Service The Box will improve the accessbility of education to the individual because the Box is a simple device that will contain information on school related subjects and project them through a hologram. This will not only proove to be benifcial to children living in rural areas but also to those who find it hard to get a proper education. This product will help to combat the flow on effects of not having a proper education and will improve the future

4 outlook of those who use it. The Box fulfils the customers needs by providing them with the education needed by projecting the means of education through a hologram which can done in your own house. 3.5 Suppliers and Partners IHMA- This will be our partner because it will help promote the company and is made up of many other hologram compnaies. This will help the company to keep up with the other companies and as stated is made up with nearly 100 of the worlds leading hologram companies. (IMHA, 2014) The hologram company- This will be our supplier who will help to produce the hologram. This company states that it does a range of 3D holographic images and to a high quality. (The hologram company, 2014) 3.6 Strategy: Differentiation The strategy that best describes the Box is differentiation. This is firstly because the box is created for children who have an inaccessibility to education. With this in mind the Box can be used from ages 2 right up until 16/17, it shows that this product is desgined specifially for the childrens need. Therefore this product follows the broad market scope. Another reason for the Box being differentiation is that the raw materials needed to make the final good is costly through introducing education in a box by providing a hologram to teach, thus the price being sold will be quite high. Taking into consideration these two points, the Box follows the differentiation strategy. 3.7 Value Chain Activity: Technology development The most important value chain activity for this business is technolog development. This is because the business applies the problem of accessibility of education to rural areas to the process of making the good. Therefore adding value to the final good being produced. It provides a unqiue value to the customer by providing them with a good that adds something different, in this case holograms, then any other good through the educational technology industry. By creating a holographic imagery to teach children, it adds value of a
5
5 new innovative way of teaching and thus creating competitive advantage. With the implentation of technology it will make the Box more accesibile to children and benefit the consumer, therefore showcasing differntiation. 3.8 Business Processes The Manufacturing of technology processing process model, as shown in figure 3.8.1 shows the manufacturing stage of the Box and how the box is created from the raw materials to the final product. It also shows how once the Box has been fully made, it gets put through the process of testing whether the holographic technology works or fails and how it goes through the stages of re-planning and engineering to make sure the hologram works to the best quality. The most important process of this business model is the planning and engineering of the Box. This process is the most important to the organisation because this is the core process of the functionality of the Box. It deals with the analysis department who condense the data into information and uses the research and development system to help make sure the hologram functions properly and solve any problems that may arise.

3.8.1. MANUFACTURING OF TECHNOLOGY PROCESSING PROCESS The faulty technology analysis process model, as shown in 3.8.2 shows the process of a customer complaint. It shows how information about what doesnt work with the Box travels through customer service to a Data warehouse then comes up with a solution and re-engineers and produces the quality assured good. The most important process in this business model is the Data warehouse stage of the Box. This process is the most important Start Order raw materials Receives raw materials Manufacture product Test hologram works NO Planning and Engineering YES Shipping product Shop floor End Research & Development Analysis Department

7 to the organisation because this is a key step to make sure the Box functions to the customers needs. This step deals with the quality assurance department who check the Box and applies Management Information systems (MIS) to solve any problems that customers face with the Box.
3.8.2. FAULTY TECHNOLOGY ANALYSIS PROCESS Start Customer Customer Service Data warehouse Sends product back to manufacturer Make product Shipping End Quality Assurance Management Information Systems Customer

8 3.9 Functionalities 3.9.1. MANUFACTURING OF TECHNOLOGY PROCESSING PROCESS The first functionaility of this process is to have equipment and materials to make the product. The second functionaility of this process is to test the Box to see if the hologram works. 3.9.2. FAULTY TECHNOLOGY ANALYSIS PROCESS The first functionaility of this process is to collect information and use that to find solutions to the problem. The second functionaility of this process is to make sure the customer receives the product to their needs and satisfaction. 3.10 Systems
3.10. 1. TECHNOLOGY MANUFACTURING PROCESSI NG SYSTEM This system is important because it uses the equipment and materials to make the final product. By using this system it will help provide a hologram embedded in the Box and will allow children to obtain the accessibility of education. 3.10. 2. INFORMATION ANALYSI S SYSTEM This system is important because it collects information about the box and analyses how improve upon the Box. By using this system it will help solve problems and give the Box a more efficient and effective way of implementing education through technology. 3.10. 3. SALES PROCESSING SYSTEM This system is important because it tells the business how many products has been sold and will give the business information through sales figures whether the Box is a good means of education. By using this system it will help managers to make decisions on any problems that could be solved to enhance the value of the product.

10 CONCLUSION
The business idea of projecting a hologram to teach education is quite attractive in the sense that implementeing education through holograms is a unique and an innovative way of teaching. It will provide a unique value to the customer through the projection of a holographic education and making it more accesible for the target market (children). By using information technology, it will add value, improve the way education is accessible and help the organisation reach its core potential, thus helping enable business success. REFERENCES 1.
