Physiotherapy industry has high customer power and high buyer power. A solution would be to add mounted pressure sensors to the injured knee to measure and record the range of motion as well as the pressure he is applying on the reconstructive joint (knee) this would then send the information directly to the phone application and the physician's office where they can check to see whether the force is being over applied on the damaged joint in order to provoke the injury.

2 INSERT AN APPROPRIATE TITLE HERE INTRODUCTION Injuries are a part of day and life, whether it be from playing sports to car accidents. Injuries are very common, but the downside to an injury is the time it takes to fully recover, it doesnt seem nice to damage your ACL while playing any sport (even cricket). Once an injury like a torn ACL occurs, the time it takes to get you back to a 100% is a very long time (2-4 months). Often, this is where people are careless they dont rest as much as they should therefore pressure applied to the torn ACL will end up delaying the process of a fast recovery. In order to prevent the following situation from happening the solution would be to add mounted pressure sensors, accelerometers and motion sensors to the injured knee(where the ACL is torn) to measure and record the range of motion as well as the pressure he is applying on the reconstructive joint (knee), which then sends the information directly to the phone application and the physicians office where they can check to see whether the force is being over applied on the damaged joint in order to provoke the injury.
3. BUSINESS SECTION 3.1 Vision To help make a world where the recovery from injuries is quick, easy and people can continue pursuing their passion without worrying about provoking an injury. 3.2 Industry Analysis: physiotherapy Industry: Physiotherapy. Ligament injuries and joint injuries Force: High/Low: Justification: Buyer power: High There are many physiotherapies around which increases customer power as they have options of going to different physiotherapists. One way to reduce this would be to give out rewards to customers, an example of this would be over in the UK they give out vouchers to every customer that refer a friend: Once the recommended person has had their treatment, we will pop your vouchers in the post. It's as simple as that. (Albany Health Clinic) Supplier power: high The physiotherapy industry tends to be quite high in supplier power as only a few suppliers tend to supply the product in good quality thus making it very demanding to be a supplier a source to back this up would be The demand for physiotherapy and

3 rehabilitation equipment is expanding because of accelerated changes in the working patterns of the people. When industries have limited options, supplier such as physiotherapy equipment specialists tend to benefit a lot by increasing the price of the equipment. (The medica) Threat of new entrants: low It would be difficult to enter the market in the physiotherapy industry as there are significant entry barriers such as, qualification aswell as big startup cost for purchasing equipment, rent and paying employees. One way to reduce the entry barrier would be decreasing the cost for purchasing the equipment a source to refer to this would be; Buying equipment for your office does not need to break the bank and with the Internet, you can quickly compare prices to save significant amounts of money. (Web PT, 2014). Threat of substitutes:
low The physiotherapy section would be low because there are not many alternatives which customers can be satisfied with as the customers main aim is to only get better and apart from accupuncture there arent many if not any that would achieve the results the customers are specifically after. An example of how important physiotherapy is; Physiotherapy and other measures may be all that is needed by some and may prevent the need for an operation. This shows its a very good industry to be in as there are not many substitutes. (Patient, 2014). Rivalry among existing competitors: high The physiotherapy industry is high due to the firece competition in the market, this is due to the fact that the industry is starting to expand due to the high demand of therapy needed. The larger the industry gets the more competition will take place, one way to lower the competiton would be exceptional service an example of this would be; treat yourself to an outstanding physio service and care!. This is what attracts customers into avoiding other industry places and going to a more professional based set up which cares for the customer. (ezybook,2014). Overall attractiveness of the industry: Overall the attractiveness of the Physiotherapy industry is high in demand which is good for the industry making it a very competiting industry in the market as all of the forces apart from two is strong/high. 3.3 Customers and Thei r Needs
4
4 The set target group of customers is based from teenage kids through to middle-aged adults. Their needs are to get 100% fit through the services which are provided. The aim of physiotherapy is to help restore movement and normal body function in cases of illness, injury and disability. (NHS, 2012).
3.4 The Product and Service The product and service will satisfy the recovery of potential injured customers by monitering the progress of the injury therefore they can recover as soon as possible. The fast recovery aspect of it is from the vision, to transform normal recovery into a full and fast recovery. This will be by attaching the motion sensors, accelerometers and pressure sensors to the designated (injured) area to track the performance. 3.5 Suppliers and Partners The potential suppliers are HQH fitness supplying their commercial physiotherapy equipment New Zealand wide and myphysiosupplies which provides equipment world wide. Partners is a person who undertakes with another/others, especially in a business with shared risk and profits. An example of partner for physiotherapy would be the government as they would cut the cost (subsidies) for the treatment and another partner would be physiotherapy companies supplying treatment products. 3.6 Strategy: Differentiation The cost strategy would be high because the service is of high quality and the physiotherapy industry is able to continue its high cost due to the high demand of being low in the threat of the substitutes indicating there is not much competitions between industries. The competitive scope targets the broad market of all ages that suffer from injury. These injuries may range from the acute to the long term chronic injury, and occur in all age groups. The vision states that whole of NZ. This states that the overall strategy is differenciation.

5 3.7 Value Chain Activity: technology development The most important value chain activity for this business is technology development. Technology development has a big impact as it links to improve the vision created through the use of the motion sensors which enables them to track and record the injured designated area. Technology carried out within the industry adds value to the company for instance a motion sensor which helps customers track how the injury is going and avoid damaging it further. This shows why a high cost leads to a faster recovery. Therefore I believe technology development is most important in the value chain.
3.8 Business Processes 3.8.1. MASCARPONE COW JARLSBERG PROCESS Once the motion sensor has been applied onto the injured patient, the data will automatically be sent to the physiotherapists office, which then will be used to examine the recovery process of the injured patient.

6 BUSINESS PROCESS 1 MODEL start Motion sensor applied to an injured patient and it will start data output. The data will then show the pressure applied to the injured area Data processing(input) Data storage Further on the data will be sent to the physicians office no Any loss of information of injury will be resent for analysis end
3.8.2. TRANFERRING DATA PROCESS once the data is measured and then received by physicians it goes on to further examination by medical experts.

BUSINESS PROCESS 2 MODEL start Data is attained from office for examining Data is then studied by medical experts From analyzing the data can they help the injured patient end No ideas have been thought off as insufficient amount of data After analyzing the data have the experts come up with new ways of reducing the recovery time for injuries. yes no Deci sion support system Collected data

3.10. 1. DATA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Data that is coming from the motion sensor will be gathered and sorted accordingly (eg: name, age) this will make it easy to find so physicans want to use the data. 3.10. 2. DATA ANALYSIS SYSTEM The medical experts can use the data to try and find new solutions that would help enhance their products in order to achieve greater results. 3.10. 3. DATA PROCESSI NG SYSTEM the processing data consists with gathering data and processing it into useful information which then can lead to a new and improved product, which helps the recovery procedure.

10 CONCLUSION Overall the physiotherapist industry is a very good industry to be in as it provides health benefits and leads to a stronger/faster recovery.by introducing the motion sensor this establish both of those requirements (stronger and faster). Through the motion sensor we can see how much pressure is being applied to the injured area, thus decreasing the chances of damaging the injury even more. The physiotherapy industry will tend to benefit from this as they will have more demand in the market for their service. Overall the physiotherapy industry will benefit a lot from collecting and providing information through the use of motion sensors.
