Make sure the LEDs on the SMDA are not on, then take the alarm cable off the COCA card.
2.
Approx every 2 min the RTC will check every port in use you will see this by LEDs on the SMDA .
3.
Take the Pr cable off the TFUA first and then the Pf cable off.
(doing this in reverse runs the risk of a VSWR 2 alarm because RTC sees reverse power & no forward power).
4.
Do your measurements and then put the Pf cable back on the TFUA first and then the Pr cable.

Alarm Outputs
Output 1 "The UPS is on Battery". Translate to "MAINS FAIL" (BTS Alarm Input 1).
Output 2 "UPS has a Low Battery". Translate to "UPS BATTERY LOW" (BTS Alarm Input 7).
In conjunction with the "Low Battery Signal Time" setting in the shutdown parameters, this warns the GSM NOC that the site is
about to shutdown and allows them time to take action if appropriate.
Outputs 3 to 6. Sum and translate to "UPS FAULT" (BTS Alarm Input 4).
This will present an alarm that indicates the presence of a hardware fault in the UPS.

Faults
2nd Gen
TRX fails with RSL failure - check transmission path of TRX SIG (and also Traffic Channels) back to ET card at BSC. Could
be a hole in the transmission path. Also chk;- SMBS-FUCB cable & SMBS mapping.
If a TRX fails with a RSL failure if all else fails to fix it try resetting the OMU (via NOC) and then reset the TRX. (Fault
maybe due to unusually config site eg 2x1x4)
TRXs 9 & 10 share the same SMBS / BCI cable, sometimes the cable is labelled incorrectly, thus the cable requires inversing
between BCI x3 connector and SMBS P1 connector
Faulty FUCB in the last TRX of either Ext Rack can cause TRXs to fail in Basic Rack or the TRXs above the faulty FUBC.
FQHU faults:-
Call dropouts:
Check power supply rail at rear of card, must be 5.0 VDC (min).
Lightning arrestors in feeders 230V min
Hardware database incorrect config.
3rd Gen
When adding a TRX or changing the HW Database, the HW Database will sometimes default to 64K Signalling.
TRUA Branching Tables:- Ensure Two-Way Connection.
Fault sympton is similar to BCFA not answering i.e. bits comming in (5,6,d,1,1,TS)
but bits not going out (5,6,d,2,1,TS)
NB
One-Way Connection table will look identical to Two-Way Connection table. (eg Cottonvale - Paul/Wayne effect)
GSM General
NOC Programming
Mains Power failures:Chk Cct Breaker inside Large Surge Units (New style Critec box)
(eg Carindale)
N110(Mini) If only 1 TRX installed, then blanking plate MUST be used to block the 2nd TRX position. This will force the fan
to blow air through TRX 1 & not through the hole in front (ie TRX 2)

FAULTS
Alms;-
Loss of power to MNI (eg failed Pwr Supply), when power returns the configuration (eg 4E1-P, 8E1-N) can change.
Dribble errors in one direction only could be caused by failure of AFC SYNC
(White/Purple LOCK wire in BB cable).
This is part of the Intelligent AFC cct between the MULDEM & RX. (either card could be faulty)
