About the Institution:
Kamaraj College of Engineering & Technology (KCET), Virudhunagar, a self financing institution offers Quality
Technical Education over a decade. This institution has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education
(AICTE), New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University. The college offers 9 UG (seven among them are accredited by
NBA, New Delhi) and 4 PG programmes in Engineering and Technology. The institute focuses on multi-disciplinary
skills of students endorsed with industry institute interaction.
Location
KCET is located in Virudhunagar district. It is nearer to many places namely Madurai, Arupukottai, Sivakasi and Sattur.
The college campus is at a distance of 40 kms fromMadurai and 10 kms fromVirudhunagar.
About the Department
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was started in the year 2002. It is accredited by NBA, New
Delhi in 2008. The department has been recently approved with PG course in Power System Engineering and also an
additional intake of 60 seats in UG course from AICTE. The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty
members with different fields of specialization.
The department is nourished with the latest equipments and computing facilities with softwares viz., ETAP, PSCAD &
MATLAB.
About the Program
This Faculty Development Program is intended to create awareness among the faculty in the discipline of Electrical
Engineering towards teaching and upgrading their knowledge in the field of Transmission and Distribution. The
fundamental concepts of Power Transmission and Distribution will be exposed with effective lectures and live
demonstration. The course also includes field visit to nearby substations, which will enable the participants to get a
practical exposure of the theoretical concepts. Participants also will be effectively trained with tutorials, assignments
and laboratory practices.

Eligibility
Participants should be a faculty fromEEE Department in any university or AICTE approved institutions.
Selection Criterion
The total number of participants is limited to 25. The selection of participants will be based on first come and first serve
basis. One participant per college will be considered. Priority will be given to young faculties. The final decision on
selection of participants will be made by the coordinators.
Registration Details
There is no registration fee for the participants. Selected participants will be intimated through e-mail. Confirmation of
participants is to be made by sending reply e-mail. No TA/DA will be paid. Free accommodation will be provided in the
college hostel for outstation participants only. Course material and Registration kit will be provided during the program
for the participants. If selected, the participant should attend the programfor the entire duration.
