INDIGENOUS AND NGO ATTENDEE APPLICATION
IFIP World Summit on Indigenous Philanthropy Weaving a New Path in Indigenous Philanthropy: Challenges and Opportunities in Changing Times September 24-26, 2014 New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge | New York
International Funders for Indigenous Peoples (IFIP) is a recognized affinity group of the Council on Foundations, with a growing network of funders who actively support and seek to increase funding opportunities for Indigenous Peoples around the world. IFIP plays a critical role in helping funders better understand and effectively address the complex and real problems faced by Indigenous Peoples by providing them with information that allows them to refine and redefine the tools and processes used in their funding activities. IFIP helps Indigenous leaders and communities gain an active voice in the philanthropic community, and informs them on the best approaches for securing much needed resources.
IFIPs one of a kind and biggest conference to date, the World Summit on Indigenous Philanthropy, will be held in New York City, a place with a high concentration of foundations, private donors and NGOs that support Indigenous peoples. The theme of the conference is Weaving a New Path in Indigenous Philanthropy: Challenges and Opportunities in Changing Times with three tracks: Alternative Models for Social and Environmental Change, Using Rights-Based Approach to Promote Self-determination, Land Rights and the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and Intergenerational Relations and Culture. There will be also a special half-day session on Resource Mobilization Hub for Indigenous Women.
Donors and Indigenous Peoples alike will enjoy this educative and networking event. Participants will sit in the conference room together, at mixed tables if chosen, in a setting conductive to sharing and debating, answering each others questions, reflecting and building wisdom together.
Through a selection process overseen by the Planning Committee, we are inviting a limited number of Indigenous leaders and NGO representatives to join us for this event. Please use this form to submit your application.
The Summit will be a venue for information sharing and relationship building with other Indigenous representatives, NGOs and donors.
