believe motivates your
employees in performing tasks?

1. Regularly touch base with employees
2. Regular meetings with employees and giving them feedback on their
performance
3. Provide coaching and encouragement to tackle a difficult task
4. Delegate to them some of my duties
5. Give them opportunities to relieve higher roles
6. Recognition and reward them when they have done an excellent job ie
Thank you card, small gift ( shopping voucher, recharge voucher, movie
pass), openly acknowledge them in a Team meeting highlighting their
good work , recommend them for a bonuses
2. How do you evaluate your
employees performance
(methods) and how often do
you do so?
Regular 1:1 performance discussion on monthly basis
Scorecard Approach 6months and Annually

3. How do deal with under-
performers







1. Identify reason for Poor Performance; address it as soon as you identify it.
2. Informal coaching- talk to the person in an informal private discussion. Ie
are personal issues affecting their performance, do they require further
coaching.
3. Performance counseling if performance remains below standard after the
informal coaching. ie is the person in the right job.
4. Review other job options if no improvement, ie is the staff happy to move
to another dept., should the staff be dismissed
5. Dismissal

What are some mistakes youve made as a leader?
1. Keeping all the power, not trusting others
2. Feeling comfortable in your level, settling for being a Manager only but not a Leader
3. Having Goals and not working hard to achieve it
4. Not fixing things that needed to be fixed, not listening to the coconut wireless
5. Retaining good performers that make my work easy, not giving them opportunities to move up
6. Not addressing staff concerns promptly, thinking its a small issue where staff raise it to a level higher.


What are some challenges you face as a leader (manager)?
1 Able to influence hold your teams respect
2 Having fresh perspective/ find ways to do things differently to keep team firing
3 Take on something new out of the norm
