6.0 Conclusion and Recommendations
The Lothar Khola Bridge is about 30 years of old and seems un-repaired and un-maintained well
over the period due to which it would be problematic in operation and un-functional before its
design life if not maintained as soon.

Comprehensive inspection of every features of the bridge suggests that the bridge superstructure
is in fairly good condition while its foundation and abutments are at reasonably fairly poor
condition. The deterioration and corrosion of expansion joint is giving significant vibration along the
length. A strategic maintenance program is needed to be developed to lengthen the life of the
bridge to its intended design life.

It is recommended that the repair and maintenance works should be implemented within a few
months to minimize the risks associated to the vulnerability of the bridge.
