Have you ever read about the effects of Smoking Marijuana? There are a lot of
them. This drug can be dangerous for many reasons. Smoking Marijuana has negatively
effects on persons lungs, heart, and brain. Therefore, other researchers suggest that
Marijuana can be healthful in some areas (Torres, 2013). This essay its going to show the
three organs that Marijuana affects the most.
First, when you smoke Marijuana your lungs start to decrease its functions. This
happen because TCH (a Marijuanas ingredient) passes from the lungs into the blood
affecting other organs. According to the NIDA, smoking Marijuana can be irritant to the
lungs, and frequent Marijuana smokers can have many of the same respiratory problems
experienced by tobacco smokers, such as daily cough and phlegm production, more
frequent acute chest illness, and a heightened risk of lung infections (NIDA, 2014).
Second, smoking Marijuana intensify the users heartbeat by 20-100 percent. As a
result, smoking Marijuana can cause a heart attack. Conform to a study; smoking Marijuana
may provoke a heart attack the next four hours after you smoke this drug (Sidney, 2002).
Undoubtedly, this effect its higher in people with heart disease.
Third and most important, is the effect that smoking Marijuana has on the brain.
Many people related a diminution of concentration and memory-learning troubles after they
smoke Marijuana. Anxiety, depression and paranoia are psychological results in smoking
the illicit drug. Agreeable to one study reported, long term Marijuana users who began
using before the age of 17, had smaller brains, with a lower percentage of gray matter, the
processing component of our brain (Gobbi, 2009). Unquestionably, smoking Marijuana
has a serious influence on the brain.
In conclusion, smoking Marijuana has important effects on three organs that are
vital in our body. Evidence shows, how badly the use of that illicit drug is, and how
dangerous can be to our lungs, heart, and brain. It is important that general public can see
the reality of this drug that many people called healthful. Otherwise, they can consume
Marijuana and be a victim of its risky effects.
