Writing a program is describing how to do something. It tells the computer what to do
and how to do it. Programming has been called an art rather than a form of engineering because
it requires so much creativity such as building a house or composing music. Programming does
exactly what it is told, regardless of whether you wanted that or not. It is a perfect example of
comprehending the clarity of an expression. Most programming languages are described as
high-level programming languages which make it easier to describe the pieces of the program
you are creating. Most common programming languages include Java and C, which are both
high-level languages and were created fairly recently. Java is used to create Android apps. An
assembler language is known as a simpler version of a computer language where everything is
given human-friendly symbolic names. Programming requires a lot of knowledge and logic, as
well as the ability to apply.

This article describes the joy of computer programming by several programmers. Most
enjoy the general control that you receive at as a programmer. You can control every aspect of
the program from the color of the font to when you want a certain thing to appear. A programmer
is described as a poet comparing the two in terms of thought process. Programming is described
as an endless journey of learning and understanding. It requires a lot of logic, so being logical is
very helpful. Programming is known to distort the sense of time because of the amount of
enjoyment a programmer is receiving. It is an activity that requires a lot of attention and
concentration. Programming is fun because it is creative and obviously requires a lot of creativity
from one. Marr points out an interesting point stating that programming too much may weaken
other human abilities. In general, programming for a long time is a threat to ones health and is
not advised.

Programming increases your knowledge of computers. A programmers job is to convert
a problem into instructions for the computer. The programmer prepares the instructions, runs the
program, and sees if the program is working properly. Programming itself is a solo activity,
however programmers are required to interact with other people such as managers, systems
analysts, and peers who are writing similar programs. Programming consists of defining,
planning, coding, testing, and documenting. Programmers have reported a high satisfaction with

their jobs. Programming also offers job security, as most people with an engineering degree, who
specialize in programming, are employed. A standard 4-year degree is required and degrees such
as an M.B.A. or a M.S. in computer science lead to promotions. In the year 2010, a 72% increase
was seen in programmers. Programming continues to be a career of high demand and offers a
great pay and stability.
