Currently education in Indonesia has been getting more attention from the entire
community. The education system also began to set in order to get better again and have a
great competitive edge. Even today the educational unit or school must have a standard that has
been set by the government. It is intended to be educational in Indonesia for the better. In order
for students to have international competitiveness is formed Pilot International Standard School
or often called PISS.
Pilot International Standard School (PISS) is the National Standard School (NSS) hich
prepare students by National Education Standards (NES) in Indonesia and international
standard so that graduates are e!pected to have the capability of international competitiveness.
"ften discussed that PISS program has more negative impacts than positive impacts. Some
time ago# the Constitutional Court ruled that PISS $ ISS has been removed. There are five
principal negative impacts caused PISS$ISS has been removed.
%irst# The &isplacement Culture of Indonesia. In this case that is the culture of Indonesia#
'Indonesian' National (anguage established in )*+, as a language of unity# is no gradually
shifting. In the )*-. constitution of the republic of Indonesia# article /0 on the national
language shall be Indonesian# clearly stated that the country1s official language used is
Indonesian. Therefore# International Standard School and Pilot International Standard School
should prioriti2e the use of Indonesian as the medium of education is not a foreign language
such as English.
Second# Pilot International 'Cost' Schools. 3n error has occurred assumption that schools

Pilot International Standars Schools is to prevent the upper middle class ho ant to send their
children other countries because they ant to provide a 8uality education for their children.

demanding handling. <ut a program shame the nation and betrayed the loer middle class.

of instruction actually reduce the 8uality of education because learning a foreign language is a
difficult thing. Science sub>ects and ?athematics ith Indonesian guide alone as considered
difficult by students# especially if you are re8uired to study english boo9s# assisted by teachers
ho are not competent. It ill damage the teaching and learning activities. <ecause of the
teachers and students did not 9no the soul of the boo9.

provide educational services to the people for free and also 8uality.
%rom some of the impact# it can be concluded that the program of Pilot International
Standard School (PISS) can not be said to have good effect on the 8uality of education in
Indonesia because many of the negative impacts. 3nd it can also be said that this program
ould be difficult to achieve success in carrying out the program because it has a very clear
program ea9nesses.
