Power Grid Corporation of India is to construct and
upgrade their 400 KV Bachau and 400 KV Maithon
substations. Siemens has been awarded the turnkey
contract at a cost of Rs.1,090 million. Implementation
Schedule: The projects are scheduled to
commissioned in the next 12 to 24 months. Siemens
energy sector will construct a new 400/ 220 KV
substation at Bachau and upgrade another two existing
substations of GETCO at Limbdi and Ranchodpura in
Gujarat. This project is a part of the Associated
Transmission System for Ultra Mega Power Project
(UMPP) to transmit the bulk power generated by
Mundra UMPP to the western region. The other contract
received by Siemens is for extension of 400 KV
substations at Maithon in Jharkhand. The scope of work

A3: 400 kV D/C Khelerihat-Byrinhat transmission line
with a route length 119 Kms in the State of Meghalaya.
2) Package A4: 400 kV D/C Byrnihat – Bongaigaon
Transmission line with a route length of 203 Kms in the
State of Assam. The orders are valued at Rs. 3640

duration of the turnkey project is 24 months. 2. 220 KV
DC transmission lines from Kharagpur 400 KV Substation
to Midnapore 220 /132 KV substation and 220 kV DC
transmission lines from 400 KV Subhasgram (PGCIL)
Substation to Saltala. The total route length of the lines
is 58.5 Kms. Implementation Schedule : The duration of
the turnkey project is 18 months. The orders are valued
at Rs. 1070 million.
