The causes and effects of drug addiction circumscribed both the reasons for a
person to start using drugs and the aftermath of becoming addicted. Drug addiction
does not pose fragility or flawed self control. It creates a vicious cycle that
undeniably precipitates anomaly in the brain, result in potent cravings and
involuntary inclination prompting to use more drugs.
Resisting help and medical intervention can lead to detrimental drug addiction
effects such as health risks and devastions in the families and their live lihood, but
the most important help come to God because He has the powerfull to change our
life.
Illegal drugs have different kinds: marijuana, morphine, ecstasy, opium, heroin and
many other more. They have different reasons why they use these.
Here are some Causes why they use this:
1. Curiosity- youth are more curious nowadays. They try it just for fun.
2. Peer Pressure-Youth are only trying things because of their friends. Being afraid
of peer turning their backs on you is a cause of peer pressure.
3. Family Background- youth are trying out this just because they knew already
about it through their parents or relatives.
4. Environment- youth are affected not only through their friends but also through
their environment. Their environment captures their minds on using illegal drugs.
Effects:
The youth dont even know that they will experience things which are effects of
drugs. Effects which affect the physical and mental ability of a person. Different
drugs have different effects.
For example:
1. Feeling of highness- users have this feeling of highness which relieves their
problems in life.
2. Physical change users tend to change their appearance. Either they look older
or they look thin.
3. Moody behavior- users have different mood depending on their trip.
Youth are unaware that they are being eaten by their systems. They only care on
what they feel now and not what they will feel afterwards.
The effects that produce the drugs most uses for the Young are:
Heroin: Is made from opium poppies. It gives a feeling of
power and contentment. But when this wears off, users become
anxious and depressed. So they take more heroin to feel better.
Soon they feel they cannot live without it and they become
heroin addicts. They may become reckless and turn to crime to
get money for it. Once you are addicted to a drug, giving up
becomes a difficult and painful experience. Drug addicts cause
themselves and their families great unhappiness and stress.
Cocaine: It a white powder made from the leaves of the coca bush. Cocaine is a
rapid-acting, powerful stimulant. At first it gives a feeling of energy, confidence and
strength. But after about 20 minutes users feel confused and anxious. They are
unable to sleep. Repeated cocaine use can cause tissue damage in the nose and
even holes in the nasal septum, the wall dividing the
two halves of the nose. An additional risk of cocaine is
the possibility of being infected whit HIV when using a
shared needle to inject it.
Ecstasy: is a drug which stimulates the bodys
functions. It produces intense feelings of happiness and exhilaration. It can make
you feel energetic because it makes the heart beat faster. This increases body
temperature, which is very dangerous. The drug releases chemicals in the brain
which cause anxiety, panic and possible brain damage. Sometimes visual
disturbances, like illusions, also occur.
