Aurora has a highly sophisticated lab with state of the art infrastructure for both MCA and MBA departments in a Air conditioned environment. The computer systems are of very high caliber with latest hardware and software configuration. Each lab has a ___________ server and hundred networked systems. 94. Daily Maintenance The computer systems require a dust free environment for a longer duration of effective life. The systems are vacuum cleaned daily as part of its maintenance. The lab rooms and its surroundings are also cleaned regularly, and students are advised to leave their footwear outside the labs. Eatables are also prohibited inside. 95. Preparation of Lab requirements: Technologies then to change and keeping in mind the latest technologies the lab Is updated annually. The requirements are gathered through inputs from students and faculty and are placed for procurement after a discussion with the management. 96.Procurement: The lab requirements are prepared and tenders are invited for procuring the hardware and software products to be used in the lab. The hardware has to be replaced every two years or so and software has to be renewed annually. 97. Lab log books: The daily account of students and faculty visiting the lab for browsing or visiting college website is daily registered maintained in the lab. Both MCA and MBA students have lab sessions in their curriculum once in a week and their timing are recorded in lob books for attendance. 99. Conducting Experiments: MBA students require hands on knowledge on Business Application Softwares like MS-Office, SAS etc and MCA students require knowledge of programming languages like C, C++, Java and OS environments like Windows & UNIX. A number of experiments are prepared to enable student. 100. Record of experiments
Every student is asked to maintain a notebook to record his work done during the lab session every week. Before the end of semester, a lab manual containing the important programs prescribed by the University is prepared in hard copy and submitted as a lab record, attested by subject faculty, HOD and Principal. The preparation of record reflects the knowledge and understanding of subject by the student. 101. Report on Damage of Equipment The equipment used in the lab is liable to be damaged due to frequent by students. Every month a report is created by the lab faculty on the various equipment like computer hardware , cables and electrical wires, switches and routers, desks and chairs etc. The report is forwarded to the Principal and necessary action is initiated. 102. Obsolete of equipment Technologies used in computer change overtime and it is more in the case of software and hardware which requires update every year, rather than 2 years later for hardware. Certain computer components like processors and motherboard components become obsolete and hence cannot be repaired but replaced. 103. Repair Every year new computer components with latest configuration components are ordered and replaced in the lab, and software are updated. The lab infrastructure remain static and repairs are carried out for smooth functioning of the lab. Repair are done to tables, chairs , damaged electrical components etc. 104. Usage of Lab A report is created annually by the lab faculty showing the usage of the computer system, softwares and the internet data connection. The usage is then supplemented with reports showing the number of students visiting the lab, number of hours of each system use, the software used mostly and least, Internet data consumed etc. The report will help the management is extruding the lab further or to add new features to the existing lab. The report will do correlate the importance of the lab and the high resources invested. 105. Taking subject preference The participation of faculty in the academics is given more importance at Aurora and in view of that at the end of every semester the faculty are asked to provide three subjects of their choice for the next semester for all the current batches. After discussion with the HOD and Principal the faculty will be given subjects as deemed proper keeping in mind his experience, workload and prior exposure to the subject. A form is circulated among the faculty in this regard.
106. Work load allocation: The workload for any semester in allotted at least three to four weeks prior to the commencement of next semester. The faculty gets enough time to prepare notes, lectures and slides for the allotted subject. Faculty will also be provided ample support by conducting atleast two FDP programs in between the semester. 107. Information The HOD informs each faculty of the subject allotted in the current semester atleast 4 weeks in advance. The allotment is done for the subjects based on the teacher experience, knowledge and confidence on the subject. The subject allotment is done immediately to let the faculty prepare for the subject by creating notes, slide and other important . Well in advance of commencement of next semester. 108. Preparation of Master Time table A faculty coordinates is responsible for time table creation, for each semester. A master time table consists of all the sections in the current semester, room number, a faculty visiting at the hour. The HOD of each department can find the faculty in each class and also which faculties are available in that hour. The master time table is also helpful to adjust classes on adhoc basis whenever faculty is on leave or adjustment is required. 109. Preparation of section wise Time Table Every section is also provided with a time table so that both faculty and students can make a note, displaying subject handled during the day. The students will also find it useful as it includes subjects, seminar schedules, reading hours, library hours, leisure hours etc. 110. Individual Time Table The department provides individual time table for each faculty showing his sessions and the duties allotted. It is helpful, as it reminds the faculty of his session, and also useful in clear adjustment during his absence or leave. 111. .. Every semester each section might contain some average and weak student who require more time and core for improving their academics. Keeping them in view, each department provides special remedial classes wherein the same subject is dealt in detail by providing more examples and illustrations. A schedule is prepared, circulated and displayed on notice board. 112.
