This letter from Richard York, director of the Christian Day School in Puerto Rico, provides updates on the school and church. It discusses the growth of the local church, with over 90 people attending recently. It also mentions that one of the founding members' husband recently decided to get baptized. The letter invites readers to visit their booth at the North American Christian Convention and notes that a team from the school will compete in the Bible Bowl for the first time. Plans are announced for the summer activities and York states that he will be taking a masters program course while continuing his work at the school.

San Juan, Puerto Rico 00936 tO*T' Tel. 783-2200 \ A Richard D. York, Director , Adelaide Kuidlan, Principal March 25,1977 Dear Christian Friends, Greetings from Puerto Rico. Since we last wrote you all have suffered through one of the worst winters in the history of the United States and we pray that you were able to overcome the hardships. We did not suffer here from the cold except that the prices of the fresh vegtables and fruits that are imported from the U.S. went up considerably .i- Suzanne and I are fine and we have a lot of exciting news to share this month. We are very happy to say that the Iglesia de Cristo is growing and-that there were over 90 people present on one of the recent Sunday ^lornings. We are seeing that the Puerto Ricans are taking a more active part in the organization of the work and we pray that some day we will be able to turn over all the work to the native people here. One of the original members,Adelaide Kuidlan, has been praying and working with her husband,Mario, that he might become a Christian. Mario has been attending for many years and recently decided to be baptized. We all were thrilled and consider it a great victory for the Lord. For all of you who are going to the North American Christian Convention, please look for our booth. It is the Puerto Rico Christian Mission booth and tells of the work going on here at the school and the church. We are also sending a team of young people to compete in the Bible Bowl contest. As far as I know, this is the first time that a team is entered from outside the U.S. One of the teachers here, Wanda Leighty.is the coach, and the kids have been working hard all year long to get ready. We are sure that it will be a real thrill for them no matter how they do in the contest. We are also working on the schedule for the summer activities. We have two weeks of VBS in Spanish at the church and also two weeks of camp for the churches on the island. We will be having five or six _^iJ^terns from different Bible Colleges who will be here as summer helpers. Suzanne and I are planning a trip to the states in November. We are planning to speak to our supporting churches and to also contact new churches for further support. We plan on being there until after Christmas. If any of you want us to speak at your church, please let me know soon so that we can include your church in our schedule. We have already received many offers to speak and we want to speak as often as possible. On of the latest events is that I am a student again.I am working on a Masters Degree in Bilingual Education at an extension of the University of Hartford,Conn. The class is on Saturday which means that my spare time is limited. Please pray for me as I take this class that the Lord will use me to witness and as to learn. We would love to hear from you and writing a short note does not take too long. Please continue to pray for us and the work here that it might always give praise and glory to God. In Christ. Oa^
