JENNY WRIGHT'S STATEMENT REGARDING

THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE INVESTIGATION
After more than one year, the University of Tennessee has finally concluded its
investigation into allegations that Jenny Wright retaliated against student athletes or otherwise
had inappropriate contact with student athletes. The University of Tennessee hired experienced
outside private counsel to conduct this investigation. After dozens of witness interviews and 13
months of investigation, the findings of the Report confirm that the allegations against Ms.
Wright have absolutely no basis in fact.
Ms. Wright is relieved that the University finally concluded this exhaustive investigation
into the baseless allegations against her. Ms. Wright has consistently maintained that she never
engaged in any type of inappropriate conduct with or against students. Ms. Wright's performance
evaluations reflect that she always acted with the utmost propriety and professionalism, even
when faced with difficult decisions and arduous conflict within the University.
For more than a year, Ms. Wright has had to endure constant public scrutiny and
embarrassment. Although the individuals who made these false allegations temporarily
succeeded in an effort to tarnish Ms. Wright's impeccable reputation and work ethic, the
University's Report conclusively finds that these allegations are completely unsubstantiated.
Ms. Wright is grateful for the extraordinary support she has received from family, friends,
colleagues at the University of Tennessee, and members of the Knoxville community. From her
time as Director of the Office of Student Judicial Affairs at the University of Tennessee, Ms.
Wright is acutely aware of the emotional and personal impact scurrilous accusations have on the
reputation of young women. Ms. Wright will continue to advocate on their behalf, whenever
possible, so that others will not have to share this experience.
