It is my pleasure to introduce the newest addition to the Doongalik Family, my first grandson, Tobias Blue, who is already wearing his Doongalik logo outfit with pride!
Artists Statement: The spider and the spider web was one of my very first shooting one early morning using a 200mm lens and shooting into the light of the spider and the web, thereby creating the effect as though it was dancing in the light. In my regular early morning ventures in the yard, I was amazed at my findings....At first there were no plans for a nature exhibition and although I am not a nature photographer, it all sort of evolved.... through out the years and finally there are forty to fifty readily and exciting, colourful and breath- taking images from my yard that I would like to share with you. Although I have not exhibited since 1999, I have through those fifteen years been busy creating and documenting (shooting) Bahamian scenes and lifestyle. The images of the flowers, gooseberries and birds were all documented in their natural colours and there is no assistance from any computer applica- tion to enhance their colours after creation, neither during the printing process. I am delighted to be mounting this exhibition and would like view- ers to take away from the show an awareness for ordinary beauty that is right within our vision. INSIDE THIS ISSUE
