State Objectives
In this lesson, students will to do the following with 80% success:
✔ Students will learn more about the capital of the United States, Washington
D.C. through answering a series of questions about the capital
✔ Students will create a slide show of their answers by using slide share
✔ Students will practice their communicating skills by presenting the slide
show of their answers to the class and teacher

1. Powerpoint and Video Clip – Teacher will show a short PowerPoint and video
clip on the 50 states and their capitals as an introduction to the lesson to
reinforce previous lessons.
2. Questionnaire – Students will answer the questionnaire about Washington
D.C.
3. Computer and World Wide Web - Students will use the computer and
Internet to answer the questionnaire about Washington D.C. through
providing pictures of their answer.
4. Slide Share – Students will use the media tool ‘slide share’ to present their
answers to the questions given to them

Require Learner Participation


Introduction/ Pre-Assessment

• Teacher will show a short video clip about the 50 states and their capitals.
• Teacher will ask the students about what they learned about the states and
the capitals
• Teacher will ask if they know what the capital of the United States is.
Exploration

• Arrange the class into 5 groups of 4.

• Each group will each have one computer with a questionnaire about
Washington D.C.
• Students will then discuss the questions with their classmates and answer
them collaboratively
• Each group will use the world wide web as a resource to answer the
questions given to them in picture form
• Each group will save all photos used to answer their questions in one folder

Generalization

• After they completed answering all the questions, Students will use the
photos they collected and upload it to slide share
• Using Slide Share, Students will put their answers in order of the questions
on the paper and label each one.

Application/ Post-Assessment
The students will present their slides to the class once they finish their
presentation document.

Evaluate & Revise


Student Performance:
Students will be evaluated on:
• Their participation in-group discussions.
• Their answers to questions about Washington D.C.
• Their presentation compilation and how they presented

At the end of this activity, students will be able to:


• State the answers to the questionnaire about the different places in
Washington D.C.
• Apply their knowledge on presenting and slide show making

The following rating will be used to evaluate students’ knowledge and


performance of the assigned lesson. (Total possible points: 100 pts.)
