Jet-Ski Concern
DOT confirmed restriction of jet ski registration and
safety prohibitory zone in Abu Dhabi waters commencing
01 May 2014.
DOT is also continuously working out ideal and
permanent solutions to mitigate the issues of jet-ski
disturbance and have a control of safety environment in
our area and the stretch of Al Raha Beach.

Marina Events
Wobbly Boat Race, Feb 2014: ART MARINE Marinas hosted Wobbly Boat Race for the second
year at Al Bandar Marina. A total of 12 teams, each team counting between 4 to 6 participants,
registered to this event. The rules were simple and straightforward: each team received 3
sheets of plywood, 5 long wooden batons, ropes, duct tape, silicon glue, nails and screws, and
they had to build a boat within 3 hours. They had to carry at least one person and be propelled
by human or natural power. There were 2 winners for the Best Decorated Boat contest and in
the Speedy Boat category two teams were announced winners when they reached the finish
line. Bruno Meier, General Manager of ART Marine Marinas, said We are delighted to see that
our initiative appealed to so many individuals and companies. It was a fun day, a great
community event for Al Bandar, and a chance for companies to practice their team-building
skills. We aim at organizing more events at Al Bandar Marina, and we look forward to
welcoming even more participants to the 3rd edition of the Wobbly Boat Race.

Family Fun Day, May 2014: Al Bandar Marina held its 2
nd
Family Fun day, lots of fun outdoor
activities and exciting prizes were available during the event. The event gave the chance to the
families to spend some quality time with each other and enjoy the onsite entertainment. The
winner of the Best Selfie photo contest was also awarded in the event.

Dubai International Boat Show, March 2014: ART Marine Marinas once again participated at
Dubai International Boat Show 2014 to showcase its exceptional marina management capabilities and
to introduce its extensive network of prestigious marina in the region. ART MARINE Marinas is the
leading marina management company in the Middle East. It operates a network of marinas in the Gulf
Region, and is also expanding in China, South East Asia, Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean. The
current portfolio includes: the prestigious Marti Marina in Turkey, Reef Island Marina in Bahrain, Abu
Soma Marina in Egypt, the exclusive Emirates Palace Marina and Al Bandar Marina in Abu Dhabi.
The students had been working on the construction of their vessels for 4-5 weeks prior to the event and they
brought their vessels to Al Bandar Marina on 25th of October in order to race in the water. Most of the pupils were
accompanied by their parents and siblings, and every one enjoyed a family fun day out. There were various onsite
entertainments such as juggler shows, face paintings, balloon twisting for children of different ages in order to make
the day memorable for everyone.
Each boat propelled by handmade paddles carried one pupil. Building the boats and paddles were apparently not as
easy as it looked. One sailor broke its paddle and some had difficulty to move their boat forward; however,
persistent pupils managed to push their boats all the way through the marina and across the finishing line.
The winner of the Best Built Boat was Al Bateen Secondary School and they received entry tickets to Yas Water
World. The boat of the Pearl School was the first one who reached the finish line in the primary students category,
and Al Yasmina School won the same in the secondary category. The winners were awarded with vouchers for
donut rides, courtesy of Capt.Tonys.

Marina Rules and Regulation
The speed limit within the marina is steerage only / no wake. Observe NO Wake rules
outside the marina.
(Must use the boat speed below 5 knots only within the marina)
Other noise making equipment or appliances shall be operated in compliance with all
laws, ordinances, and rules.
(All berth holders are reminded that loud music within the marina is prohibited)
Owners of unattended vessel must provide the Marina an access keys/and or access
code so that the MARINA may board the vessel in the event of emergency.
(This is advisable to those who constantly travelling and taking long vacation)
All Yacht brokers, contractors, workmen, crew or other agents of LICENSEE must register
with MARINA, sign a waiver of liability in favor of MARINA, and provide adequate
temporary security prior to admittance to the pontoons.
( For any marine/boat service works inside the marina, all berth holders are advise to coordinate
with the marina management at least minimum of 1 day before the contractors visit or to do
any service work for the boat via email to avoid inconveniency as well to assure of your boat
security and safe operations in the marina)

DIOSILITO DANIOT a.k.a. Danz

Danz joined Al Bandar Marina in January 2014 as a
MEP/Dockhand. He has 20 years experience in the Marine
Leisure Industry. Danz started his career as a skipper and a boat
mechanic in a private yacht in Singapore. He also has an
extensive range of experiences in the Middle East. He likes the
