PURPOSE OF LEED
CERTIFICATION
Leed certification is the standard for measuring building sustainability. Having leed
certification is the best way to demonstrate that your building is green. Getting leed
certification allows you to take advantage of a number of state and local government
incentives.
Earning leed certification demonstrate your leadership in the field and in depth
knowledge of the leed rating system and green building strategies. Green building can be
for low income families and can be affordable to occupy maintaining a low cost for
maintenance.

cement houses, and houses that are
made out of natural materials. Many
of their buildings are certified
because of the climate. This specific
house is a stilt house made out of
wood that doesn't require to cut
down a whole tree that saves the
environment.

ELECTRICITY SOURCE
In Brazil about 70% of electricity comes from Hydro Power.
They are really big in Hydro Power because they are completely
surrounded by water .
They specifically come from Hydro Electric Dams
The second biggest hydroelectric plant generates up to 11,230MW,
will flood 500 square kilometers and will displace 20,000 people,
mainly Indians.
BETTER ALTERNATIVE
A better alternative to Hydropower would be Solar Power
Solar power is better because each cell per square inch on the Solar
Panel generates 45 MW
If only 1 Panel is 200 feet then it will generates 108, 000 MW of
electricity.
ALTERNATIVE WALLS
Superior walls are a good alternative wall material to use because
the material and the way they are installed keep heat from escaping
and entering the building. It also saves energy because you dont have
to worry about the cool air from your air conditioner escaping your
house so you do not have to leave it on for a long time. It is also
Green certified.
