5. Project Constraints

While the evolution of the conceptual design has been a smooth process so far, however the
there are few major constraints that will ultimately determine the success of this urban renewal
project.

The major constraints likely to affect the further development of the projects can be categorized
into two parts, namely:

5.1 Social Issue

The uprooting and relocation of the existing building tenants is likely to pose as the
biggest challenge of this development.

Prior to project commencement alternative accommodation should be planned and
provided and if possible within the close proximity to the site in order to reduce the
disruption to the social life of the affected inhabitants.




5.2 Statutory Approvals and Securing the Utilities

While the process of necessary coordination with the Government Authorities is in
progress with a view to obtain initial approvals. While the correspondences exchanged
with the Authorities are enclosed in Section 3.0 of this report. Face to face meetings with
the concerned people of various departments are currently ongoing. Based on the initial
feedback received, the following table summarizes the current status:
