This document provides the sitting list for the High Court, Appellate Side, Bombay effective June 9, 2014. It assigns 19 courts to hear different types of civil and criminal cases. Court No. 1 will hear matters related to constitutional challenges and tax laws. Court No. 4 will hear cases related to offenses against women. Court No. 8 will hear cases related to land acquisition and education. Court No. 9 will hear tax appeals and indirect tax matters. (2) The priority will be given to the Supreme Court expedited matters and Senior Citizen matters. (3) Applications / Petitions for review, clarification of the orders or Speaking to the Minutes to the Orders passed by Division Bench of which the Senior Judge is not available, to be placed before the Division Bench consisting of Hon'ble Shri Justice V.M.Kanade and the Junior Judge of the former Division Bench. (4) Contempt Petition (Civil) will be taken up by the concerned Division Bench or Single Judge, as the case may be, before which the main matter is pending or before which the main matter would lie if it were pending. (5) Larger Benches and Special Benches will be constituted only on FRIDAY. (6) However, a few matters in Chambers during lunch may be taken up subject to convenience of the Honble Judges, and if they so desire. (7) Part heard matters cease to be part heard with change of assignment unless where a proposal for continuation of the matter is sent by the concerned Bench at the request of the parties and the same is approved by the Honble the Chief Justice. Note: The Public Interest Litigations (Civil), arising out of different Statutes and Acts (except those assigned to other Courts of the Appellate Side), shall be placed for admission, final hearing and order matters therein, before the respective benches, as per the assignment in addition to the extant judicial assignment.
