Re: Chief Executive Officer

Dear Sir/Madam,

Highly experienced and achievement orientated GIS specialist, I offer a wealth of contributions and
accomplishments in Australia and the USA spanning 16 years. I write with great interest to be considered for the
above career opportunity to develop and deliver the Australian Governments response to global climate change as
an active and constructive participant in international climate change negotiations.

Whilst working with solar companies at the most senior levels and with Energy Response, I have acquired a clear
understanding of the adoption challenges that we face in transitioning to a less carbon-intensive economy.
Additionally I am a results-driven and capable Senior Manager and leader, proficient working with Boards, having led
five companies and served on the boards of a further four. Having initially studied climate change law in 1999 and
actively contributed in the field since, I have a strong understanding of climate change science, policy, law, politics
and social implications. I have gained advanced expertise in the businesses, technologies and services that will be
required to ameliorate climate change and mitigate its impacts.

As detailed in my attached rsum, I have utilised my diverse expertise in renewable energy in senior management,
finance and strategy roles including in my current position as Director of Smart Energy Ventures, actively leading the
firms cleantech initiatives. My investment activity has primarily been in the renewable energy sector with major
contributions at Ausra, an Australian-originated solar thermal company and Energy Response, which facilitates
feeding renewable energy into electricity networks. Prior to joining Smart Energy Ventures, I was Director of New
Ventures at Supersmart, a California-based firm that incubates and invests in technology start-up companies during
which time I focused on commercialising new energy technologies.

Previous contributions include my role as Operations Manager of H2Onsite, recruited to lead a hydrogen generation
technology company. Additionally, I was a Consultant to various venture and energy companies in Silicon Valley,
California where I met numerous challenges such as redefining strategies and business models, leading business
development, fundraising and developing energy technology investment strategies. Other roles have included COO of
DMFCC, a micro fuel cell company and Co-Founder, Bright Spark Marketing and CFO of a software company, Aurora
Database Systems, building the business from zero to fifty five employees over six years, raising US$45MM of top-tier
venture capital and debt, eventually merging with a public company. Having acquired a strong international network
in the renewable energy sector successfully securing top tier venture capital investments, I have inspired and aided
companies to grow as an independent investor, consultant and advisor from inception through to profitable growth.

Keen to play a pivotal role in the establishment, leadership and day-to-day management of this new advisory statutory
authority reporting directly to the Board, I offer a proven track record of results in managing large scale projects
involving cutting edge technology and high risks, confident in my ability to represent The Climate Change Authority.
Furthermore, I am a highly skilled and articulate communicator in stakeholder engagement, with media and
communication strategy development experience.

Find attached my rsum that details my credentials, achievements and qualifications. I am certain an interview
would fully reveal my suitability for the opportunity to contribute to The Climate Change Authority as a Chief Executive
Officer. Please dont hesitate to contact me at 0400 121 565 or via email at r.bronson1966@yahoo.com.

Yours faithfully,

Richard Bronson
