Installing the BBU3900
Determine whether to reversely install the mounting ear according to the space
available at the installation site and the installation mode of the equipment in the
cabinet.
Remove the screws and mounting ears on both sides of the BBU3900.
Reinstall the mounting ears.
Hold the BBU3900 with your hands
and align the holes for mounting
ears with the cabinet installation
holes.
Slide the BBU3900 into the cabinet
slowly along the guide rails.
Fix the BBU3900 in the cabinet by
using four panel screws.

To provide -48 V DC power supply for the site, you need to install the DCDU-03C. The
DCDU-03C converts one -48 V DC power input to multiple 48 V DC power outputs for the
base station. The APM200 needs to be installed only when there is only 220 V AC power
supply at the site. The APM200 converts 220 V AC power input to multiple -48 V DC power
outputs for the base station.
Ensure that the power distribution equipment such as the APM200 and DCDU-03C has an
independent power switch to control the power-on and power-off of each BBU and RRU.
When the 2T2R is used, the remaining N-type connectors are protected by waterproof caps.

the GPS port on the USCU. When the BBU3900 is not configured with a USCU, the GPS
clock signal cable is connected to the GPS port on the BMPT.
Protect Surge
When the BBU is installed in a 19-inch cabinet, ground the surge protector. The
grounding cable should not be longer than 300 mm, and the cross-sectional area of the
grounding cable is 6 mm

Installing the Outdoor Cable Transfer Box
Measuring the VSWR of the Antenna System
When the distance between the RRU and the DCDU-03C or
APM200 ranges from 60 m to 180 m, install an outdoor cable
transfer box at the RRU.
The length of the cable which between the outdoor cable
transfer box and the RRU is 3 m to 5 m.
Measure the VSWR of the antenna system using the
Broadband Site Master.
Measure the VSWR in the position where the antenna
system is connected to the RF port of the RRU.
Never connect an antenna system with a VSWR of
1.5 or higher to the RRU.

Do not lift only the handle.
Installers A climb onto the tower and
fixes the crown block onto the support of
the tower platform and puts the hoist
thread through the crown block.
Installer C uses the lifting rope to tie the
RRU and the installation parts according to
the figure and uses the traction rope to tie
a knot at the handle of the RRU.
Installer B pulls down the hoist thread,
and installer C pulls the leading thread
outwards to prevent the RRU and the
installation parts from colliding the tower.4.
Installers A and B hold the RRU and the
installation parts and loosen the knot.
