INTRODUCTION
Gulf Cable and Electrical Industries Company K.S.C. (Gulf Cable) is the only domestic manufacturer and exporter
of power cables, control cables, telecommunication cables and overhead conductors in Kuwait. We were established
in March 1975 and have been listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange since 1984. Our manufacturing operations
commenced in 1979.
We embarked upon a massive restoration of our plant & it's facilities during the early 90's when state-of-the-art
machinery and testing equipment were acquired. Thereafter, new machines are recurrently being introduced to
enhance our production capacity and product range. The new machines and equipment have numerous built-in
functions and features assuring precision and consistency of the highest standard.
On a regular basis, we develop new products and enhance our existing ones. At Gulf Cable we pay utmost attention
to product quality, and to ensure this, we have adapted a comprehensive Quality Assurance System that complies
with international standards.
Quality has always been our top priority and meeting customer's expectations has been our prime objective. The
very basis on which we have earned the confidence of our clientele.

compoundswhich are widely used by Electrical Supply industriesin many countries.
1. The performance of the GC Joints& Pot Endsmeetsthe British Recommendation C 81 Part 2
2. M echanical connectorsand armour bonding system comply with BS 4579 and Engineering Council Recommendation C 79.
The encapsulation system (BERPAK 252 & BERPAK 516) isbased on Polyurethane compoundsproduced by the mixing of two materials
to form a free-flowing liquid which cures into tough resilient elastomer. The two materials are supplied in separate containers. The two
materialsused consist a Base material (Part B) & an Activator (Part A).
The GC Cable Joints System is convenient for jointing cables upto 1000 V a.c & 1500V d.c. It has the suitability to use with PVC
Insulated, XLPE Insulated, Paper insulated, PVC Sheathed Armoured or Unarmoured cables. The system isdesigned to be appropriate for
Copper & Aluminium conductor cables.
The mechanical jointing issuitable for coresof standard solid Aluminium, in both circular and sector-shaped cross-sections, the core
shapesbeing taken into account in the design of specific connectors.
The Outer Shellsof the GC Jointshave been designed to avoid the air bubblestrapping inside the joint.
The productsrange include the following products:

If Copper conductorsare to be jointed they should be wrapped in brassgauze before insertion in to the yoke to improve electrical stability
of the Aluminium\Copper interface in the connection.
Health & Safety:
Berpak Cable Jointing Compoundshave been proven to be safe to handle asnormal hygienic principlesare observed. It isrecommended
that personal should wash handsbefore eating or smoking.
The base compoundscontain a Polyurethane and the curing agentscontain an Isocyanate. The T.L.V. for the M DI ( M ethylene Bisphenyl
Di Isocyanate) is. 002 ppm. However it isof low volantility at room temperature and may be regarded asbeing free from isocyanate vapour
hazard.

Do not open containersuntill readyfor use. Stir Part B before use.
2. Cleaning of Equipment:
Equipment etc., maybe cleaned with M ethyl EthylKetone (M EK) or M ethylene Dichloride immediately
after use or before material cures. Use RITE OFF to remove anyCured material.
3. Packing, Shipping, Storage & Handling:
Berpak Encapsulation Compoundsare moisture sensitive and have a storage life of 24 monthswhen
Kept in their original unopened containersand stored at temperaturesbetween 10-25C in a dryarea.
Containersmust be kept tightlyclosed when not in use.
