TOP S TORI ES NAVAL ACADEMY MI D PARACHUTES WI TH LEAP FROGS When the U.S. Navy Parachute Team, the Leap Frogs, performed a demonstration jump June 15 for students attending the Naval Academy Summer Seminar, they took along an unexpected guest: a Naval Academy midshipman. Midshipman 1st Class Ryan Hill, president of the academys Parachute Team, had the necessary qualifcations, and his coach Mike Davidson brought up the possibility of his jumping with the team when they contacted him for air support. The Naval Academy Parachute Team works in conjunction with the Naval Academy Skydiving Club to safely introduce midshipmen to the demands of skydiving. A new program is helping Naval Academy midshipmen experience some of the rigors of fight school before they decide what service assignment they want to choose. MI D NOMI NATED FOR WOMAN OF THE YEAR A sailor stationed at Naval Support Activity Annapolis was recently offered a residency through the University of California, Los Angeles International Medical Graduate Program, to begin in June 2015. The Class of 2018 will arrive July 1 for Induction Day. Information on schedules, parking, gate access and more is available on the Naval Academy website.
