MSCM LLP since October 2002. Element 21 Golf Company manufactures, designs
Chartered Accountants and markets advanced Scandium metal golf and fishing equipment,
701 Evans Avenue, 8th Floor and plans to expand its product lines to include hockey, baseball,
Toronto, Ontario, M9C 1A3 cycling, tennis and other sports.

Ference LLP introduced Scandium golf equipment. In 2007, E21 expanded its

Originally developed for advanced aeronautics in jet fighters including


the MiG, E21’s patented Scandium metal provides the highest

Products/Services:
The sports market has not seen significant performance advantages
since the introduction of titanium and graphite in the early 1990s.
Scandium provides the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any material
currently used in competitive sports: - 25 % improvement over
Titanium
E21 FISHING RODS - 40 % improvement over Graphite/Epoxy

Technologies/Special Know-How:
E21 Scandium technology is protected by two US patents (Scandium
alloy US Patent # 5,597,529 and sports applications -- US Patent #
5,620,652). E21 has developed material supply, alloy production, and
unique manufacturing techniques, which create significant barriers to
entry by competitors. Moreover, the 3-platform business model
provides a unique sales strategy, otherwise not possible without
patents and manufacturing know-how. E21 has assembled an
experienced team of alloy developers, processing and production
experts, light metal sports equipment designers, and product
marketing specialists.
Markets:
The sport equipment industry is $25 billion per annum. The golf
equipment industry is $5.5 billion annually, and fishing equipment is
$4.8 billion annually. In 2007, E21 brought to market a full line of golf
clubs and shafts, as well as fishing rods. The marketing strategy is to
achieve a wide acceptance of Scandium through sales of E21 clubs to
retailers, Scandium components to OEMs (Callaway, Nike, Mizuno etc),
and by licensing factories the use of Scandium metal components.
Another unique advantage of the golf Scandium market acceptance is
shaft manufacturing, which is geared for sales directly to OEMs. The
market for golf shafts is estimated to be close to 30 million units in the
United States and 60 million units worldwide. The premium shaft
market that E21’s Scandium shaft will initially be targeting represents
a market size of approximately 27 million units. The expansion into
fishing has increased E21’s sport sectors, visibility, and branding
opportunities.
Competitions:
Since the introduction of Titanium into golf equipment, the golf market
has been at a technological stand-still. However, the consumer
education on Scandium advantages will require wide exposure and
growth of the E21 marketing arm. E21 will be introducing a Golf
Channel infomercial to develop consumer awareness. The 3-platform
business model was developed to accelerate industry acceptance and
E21 Scandium branding. The recent PGA tour presence has helped to
jump start E21 golf exposure.

The fishing industry is where golf industry was 20 years ago, in terms
of ability for new companies to penetrate this market. In 18 months
since the introduction of the E21 fishing line of rods, E21 has opened
over 1000 storefronts and have sold 50,000 rods. The technology vs.
value that E21 is offering in its rods seemed to have hit a sweet spot
and is resonating extremely well with the consumers.

Distribution Channels and Marketing Initiatives:


Element 21 Fishing line is now is sold in Bass Pro, Cabelas, Academy, Gander Mountain in USA and major
distributors internationally.
Because of E21 IP protection and proprietary manufacturing path E21 can offer the sports industry not only
finished goods, but components (shafts, guides, reels etc). This allows E21 to compete in three distinct
categories and turn competition into customers: * Wholesale (equipment retailers), * OEM (component sales
and technology license) and * Manufacturers (technology licensing).
