Conservative grassroots leaders and activists from across the state of Oklahoma, felt it was important that we reinforce our opposition to the outside endorsements of T.W. Shannon for U.S. Senate in Oklahoma. We continue to stand firm that T.W. is not the conservative in this race. Outside endorsements from the Senate Conservatives Fund, Governor Palin, Senators Cruz and Lee as well as others are at odds with many of the Tea Party and Grassroots Liberty organizations in Oklahoma. Boots on the ground, Oklahoma grassroots leaders and activists were not consulted regarding who the true conservative was prior to the endorsements. Apparently, the vetting process was side-stepped in this race as the top three candidates have voting records.
Our concern is that these endorsements of T.W. Shannon for U.S. Senate might be misconstrued that Oklahoma grassroots leaders and activists are endorsing him. We feel we owe it to our members and fellow conservative citizens to set the record straight that we do not endorse or support T.W. Shannon for U.S. Senate. Candidates that have a proven track record of conservatism, boldness to stand up for whats right even when they are the only man/woman standing and will fight to protect our liberty with their last breath if necessary is who we stand behind. We support candidates that we feel will best represent our principles and values, uphold the Constitution and serve the people with honesty and integrity.
T.W. Shannon has proven to be misleading over and over. One example; he claims, one of my top priorities as Speaker was to repeal Common Core. The truth is: as Speaker of the House, no repeal legislation of Common Core came to the floor under his leadership. When repeal Common Core legislation, HB3399, was voted on in the House initially on March 12, 2014, T.W. Shannon was nowhere to be found. On the last day of the 2014 legislative session, when HB3399 made its final passage in the House on its way to the Senate, T.W. Shannon suddenly signed on to become a co-author. T.W. claims to wear the Repeal Common Core crown, when actually he did nothing to help move the bill through the process, nor did he debate for the passage of HB3399 to repeal Common Core in Oklahoma. Regarding the U.S. Senate special election in Oklahoma, Dr. Tom Coburn stated, Trust is absolutely paramount in our republic. The great tension in our country today, for Republicans and Democrats, is that voters no longer trust their elected officials to do the right thing. That bond of trust is born during elections, and it is a powerful responsibility. As a voter, I believe the conduct of a campaign is a critical test of how a man or woman values this great trust. How someone runs a campaign says a lot about how that person would govern.
The endorsements T.W. Shannon has received will not make him become conservative; he has too many allies to serve; those behind Oklahomans for a Conservative Future, the dark corporation dumping over $1 million into Shannons campaign, the Indian tribes, Tom Cole, big business and the Chamber of Commerce. Shannon is being very well handled he is whatever you want him to be at the time. His association with Tom Cole should especially bring cause for concern considering Coles 49% rating on the Heritage Action Scorecard.
Outside endorsements were intended to create the illusion of T.W. Shannon as a grassroots conservative. Wrong! As Speaker of the House, T.W. voted for higher fees on driver licenses, increased spending in Oklahoma by $300M, supported using tax dollars for corporate tax subsidies, passed the highest budget in Oklahoma history and has a C conservative rating. These are not the traits of a conservative leader.
Thank you for your contribution to the conservative cause, your hard work is appreciated. While the endorsements that T.W. Shannon has received has made our job a little more difficult, uphill battles do not intimidate us, they make us more determined to expose the truth.

"I cannot speak for all the pastors that are affiliated with Reclaiming Oklahoma for Christ regarding an endorsement of any one particular candidate in the US Senate Race. However, I object that no one from Palin, Lee or Cruz's offices ever consulted the grassroots organizations that live and work in Oklahoma before making this endorsement. Understanding the principles for which Mike Lee and Ted Cruz stand, they should be very cautious of anyone who has such close ties with Representative Tom Cole who received a grade of 49% in this year's Heritage Action Scorecard."
