6 DETAILS OF SOME LARGE DATA-CORE PROJECTS:

6. 1. 1 THE UNI VERSI TY OF CALCUTTA
Datacore is maintaining and customizing as per requirement of Calcutta University for their application package
EDUSYS. Accounts & Finance Department is running a browser based Financial Management System named
EDUSYS. The Application Programme is developed using EJB and Struts and deployed under JBOSS Tomcat
Application Server. The Backend Database is Oracle 10G and Reports are running using Oracle Report Services. All
the abovementioned systems are running under Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) as Operating System and installed
in two IBM Blade Servers (Intel based), which are presently under warranty.
Datacore is responsible for Comprehensive Maintenance of Oracle Database Server,
JBOSS Tomcat Application Server and Oracle Report Server including
System Administration
Backup and Recovery
Database Administration
Data integrity checking and Repairing etc.,
Network Administration and Monitoring of open Ports to ensure the best performance
of the system (in short, servers health as a whole)
Installation, Configuration and maintenance of proper Firewall System to protect the Servers from unauthorized
access and network vulnerabilities. We are extending this network to connect different C.U. Campuses.
Comprehensive Maintenance of EDUSYS application programme including
Debugging (fixing errors) of modules
Changes as and when required to run the modules efficiently
Generation of New Reports/Forms and Integrate the same with EDUSYS module(s) so
that end user can use those Reports/ Forms from the Frontend.

1) The software solution is developed in Microsoft.NET platform with Oracle 10g or above as the back-
end RDBMS.
2) The software solution is designed in such a way that it could handle large quantities of data for
analysis and generation of reports.
3) Both the software solution and the web portal (if any) are user-friendly and easy to navigate.
4) Proposed Software solution is able to integrate and extract the existing data base along with reports
from online - student registration application, examination application, photo admit card and
attendance, examiner empanelment, examiner allotment, OMR marks capturing, result publishing,
verification result publishing and other online and offline related application.
