Total Training for Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 - Building Web Applications Set 1
Update your product to activate certain features:
To activate some of the features in the Training interface, please check our website at www.totaltraining.com for product updates,
or you can click the Setup button in the lower right of the interface to reveal the menu shown in the figure below. From there, click
the link shown to visit our product updates and support web page.
Trouble launching the Training?
Windows users:
The Launchpad window for the Training should open automatically when you insert the DVD-ROM. If the Launchpad doesn't start
automatically, double-click on the My Computer icon on your desktop. Then locate your DVD-ROM drive (it should be labeled
TASP2W1_P1) and double-click on its icon to open the Launchpad. If this still doesn't work, right-click on the DVD-ROM icon
(TASP2W1_P1), displayed in the My Computer window, and select Open from the popup menu. Then double-click the file TASP2W1L
(it may be displayed as TASP2W1L.exe) to start the Launchpad.
Macintosh users:
This training runs only on Windows - sorry!
If you're having trouble installing the Project Files onto the Desktop, click the Browse button in the "Install Project Files" screen and
try installing the files in an alternative location.
No video?
If you see the Training window and the interface elements (header, buttons, etc.), but no video is displayed in the center of the
window, you probably don't have the minimum required versions of Windows Media Player and/or DirectX. The training requires DirectX
8.1 or later, and Windows Media Player 7 or later.
You can download the latest version of DirectX by visiting:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/Browse.aspx?categoryid=2&displaylang=en
You can download the latest version of Windows Media Player by clicking the "Get Windows Media Player" button on the Windows
Media Test window that appears after you click "Install". This will bring you to the Microsoft website where you will be able to
manually download the latest version of Windows Media Player. The web address is:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/
Choppy or stuttering audio or video playback?
If you experience stuttering or choppy video or audio when playing the training, try opening and closing one of the menus. This
problem may also be due to other applications running simultaneously, which is more demanding on your processor. Try quitting all
unnecessary applications. Also check the system requirements below to ensure that your system meets the minimum recommended
specifications.
For best video playback performance, we recommend the following
