on the deck next to the river on a Sunday eve- ning than at Port Clin- ton Yacht Club. After a busy weekend, the lake always seems to calm down and creates a very relaxing evening. June at the club was packed with activ- ity. This included our popular Friday Night Snacks, the enjoyable Saturday morning Bloody Mary Socials, weddings, graduations, sailboat races, sailing lessons, cruise out, pool, tennis, shuffle board and beach ac- tivities. Dennis Ladd completed numerous boat inspections the first week in June and found the Port Clinton Yacht Club boats to be overall very well pre- pared for safe boating. I concluded June showing my daughters exactly where the Crib is located off PCYC. I have a good idea where it is located and we drifted close to its location with the en- gine raised. The water is deeper this year and not as clear and I was unable to see the rocks and pilings even after we nudged up against it. So be careful, it did not disappear. The first week of July starts out with a very busy schedule. After the monthly meeting July 3 rd go to the beach and look to- wards Catawba and I will start out the week- end with a small fire- works display at my house. On our busy Holiday weekends our pool is packed so put your portable folding chairs in your car trunk in case we need extra seating. At the end of the month we have the Commodores Wine and Cigar Party on Wednesday, August 30 th and will be host- ing the Corsair Na- tional Multihull Sail- boats that evening. The outdoor band party will be the first weekend in August. This year for the party, the infield will be open to parking for PCYC members displaying their parking stickers. Please use them so we can more closely moni- tor our uninvited guests. I am also work- ing on a possible event on Wednesday 23, July at PCYC. Think dancers- as in Russian. I will keep you informed. For those of who know what I am talking about, your mugs have arrived and are avail- able at the PCYC store. Sorry, no subtle humor this month. Spent all day on the boat and I am ex- hausted. I have the house lights off as I type and the June bugs are still attacking just from the light of this computer. The other little tiny buggers are coming right through the screens and my wife wants me to move into the closet to finish this article. So it is finished.

See you around the club!
Commodore Michael Hablitzel The definition of Yacht Club is A sporting club specifically related to Yachting as from Wikipedia. We are surely a sporting yachting member- ship at the PCYC as many boaters have been enjoying our club this summer. I have seen both sailors and power boaters busy around the club on the weekends. As the summer is in full swing now, the pool is very busy. Please remember to respect our lifeguards while around the pool. Also remember the all members are responsible for their guests actions when on club property. It is all members responsibility to po- lice our rules and policies. Our Pool Kitchen sink project should be completed as you read this article. These changes will help with some new offerings at the pool this year. Our slushy drinks have become popular by both our kids and adults. We are im- proving the serving operation by replacing the window in the kitchen adjacent to the pool. Another project we have started is the replacement of the last marina pedestals. They have been prewired and we will start installing this month and complete by the end of summer. Please thank our volunteer crew consisting of Rusty Jack, Eric, and Gary P A G E 2 Price that have been helping with this electrifying project. You may have seen and heard that we have a port- able pump out wagon for our member boaters. We have received and commissioned it. The board has approved our rules for operation and use. It is now available for use on Thursdays, Fridays and Sun- days from 2 pm to 6 pm at the hoist area. It is not to be moved from this area. To use it you must go to the hoist dock area. Do not attempt to empty the tank yourself. Please contact the caretaker when it is full. This is new to our club and we welcome your suggestions and com- ments as always. The best thing to remember is ask questions first before you break it. I know this may be hard to do for some of our Men. If all else fails, there will be a copy of the operations for use and rules on the pump out wagon. Again, this is your club. Use it and have fun. RC Doug J I B S HE E T The Rear Perspective The Portage River Dingy Cruise will be Saturday July 5th. We will meet on the PCYC front deck at 10:30 and from there stop at Lagoon Saloon and then have a cookout at Dave and Cindy Bringman's home. The Power Fleet will be head- ing up the Detroit River to Grosse Point Yacht Club the weekend of July 26th. Grosse Point is a beautiful facility and is always very hospita- The Power Fleet has just com- pleted a very successful Cruise to Sandusky Yacht Club. There were sixteen boats and forty people who attended for the weekend. Some of us had a very exciting ride over to SYC on Friday as the lake was not being kind. The weather cooperated the rest of the weekend and I believe every- one had a great time.

Please remember that No one shall allow another boat owner to use his/her dock without permission of the Dockage Chair- man or Dock Master. This rule is found in the yearbook under Dock and Boat Regu- lations section B, #3. We have had several situations where we have had to remove water craft from docks they have not rented.
We have a Pelican Kayak #OH 2554 EM in the rack storage area. There is no record of who owns it. Last known owner was James Rico in 2009 (who is not a mem- ber). If no one claims this watercraft it will be removed from the club grounds.
