Transmission Pressures - Test and Adjust

Machine Preparation
1. Stop the machine. Engage the parking brake and turn off the engine.
2. Put blocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels of the machine. Remove
the differential drive shaft.
1) Transmission control valve 2) !uard
". Remove guard 2) from transmission control valve 1) . This action will
provide access to the control valve.
") #aps
$. Remove caps ") and install tooling %) or &) on pressure tap ') and pressure
tap () .
Test Procedure
1. Start the engine.
2. )perate the engine at high idle either in the P%R* position or +E,TR%-
position. Record the gauge pressures. Pressure tap ') is for clutch . and pressure
tap () is clutch /. Remove the tooling %) or &) and replace caps ") .
". Remove caps ") and install tooling %) or &) on the pressure tap E) 0 pressure
tap 1) 0 and pressure tap *) .
$. )perate the engine at high idle in 12RST SPEE3 1)R4%R3. Record the gauge
pressures. Pressure tap E) is clutch 1. Pressure tap 1) is clutch 5 and pressure
tap *) is clutch 6. Remove the tooling %) or &) and replace caps ") .
/. Remove caps ") and install tooling %) or &) on pressure tap !) and pressure
tap 3) .
5. )perate the engine at high idle in SE#)+3 SPEE3 1)R4%R3. Record the
gauge pressure. Pressure tap !) is for clutch 2 and pressure tap 3) is clutch $.
Remove the tooling %) or &) and replace caps ") .
6. Remove cap ") and install tooling %) or &) on the pressure tap #) .
.. )perate the engine at high idle in the 12RST SPEE3 RE7ERSE position.
Record the gauge pressure. Pressure tap #) is clutch ". Remove the tooling %)
or &) and replace cap ") .
8. Refer to Table 2 for the correct pressures. 2f an ad9ustment is needed0 refer to
Testing and %d9usting0 :2nitial Pressures ; Test and %d9ust:.
1<. Stop the engine. 2nstall the differential drive shaft and engage the parking brake.
Replace all the covers and the guards.
