Fish on!
Quick, grab the

It was quite breezy
and a bit cool out on
the water, but there
were plenty of anglers
giving it a try on the
river below the dam
(surface temperature
47 degrees) and
the Dredge Cuts
(surface temperature
62 degrees) over
the weekend, some
finding success and
some going home
empty-handed. This
family outing on
Sunday had them
reeling em in near the
Park Grove Bridge.

FWP meeting
in Plentywood

Members of the public are

reminded that Montana Fish,
Wildlife & Parks will host a
meeting to discuss recent recommendations from an advisory
council regarding hunting and
fishing licenses and fees on June
24 in Plentywood.

The meeting will take place
from 7-9 p.m. in the basement of
the Montana State Bank building, 220 N. Main Street.

The Fish & Wildlife Licensing and Funding Advisory Council recently spent eight months
examining FWPs current license
system and funding cycle for fish
and wildlife management. That
work resulted in recent recommendations to FWP Director Jeff
Hagener that would provide an
additional $6.25 million a year to
stave off deep budget cuts to fish
and wildlife management programs.
The recommendations are
aimed at a simplified licensing
system; standardized license discounts for youth, seniors, and
disabled hunters; a revamped
base price structure and other
adjustments to provide a fair and
stable source of revenue for the
states fish and wildlife conservation efforts.
The councils recommendations are available by clicking
on the Licensing and Funding
Advisory Council section on
FWPs website at fwp.mt.gov.
For more information about the
meeting, call 406-228-3700.

Letter to the Buzz

Leave it to the Old Timers

CURRENT NUMBERS- of St Marie, as recorded

with liens (tax, water, association) as of 6-6-14:
When Kelly returned to St Marie a few years ago
his properties were $1.5 million dollars in debt.
NOW- those properties are held by 4 different
investor/developers who are currently $1.5 million
dollars in debt!
As one perceptive St Marie resident told me: The
only thing they have DEVELOPED is DEBT, not
properties. These 4 developers own some 750 St Marie
condo units.
IN CONTRAST- The Old Timers belong to
SMCA (St Marie Condo Assoc) and for the last 20 years
have paid their taxes, water bills, associations bills,
and have kept the OUTFIT (St Marie) running! .....the
INFRASTRUCTURE.
SERVED- These old folks have VOLUNTARILY
served on all boards and committees WITHOUT PAY.
Their properties (250 condos) have a VALUE of about
$9 million dollars and are INSURED for $32 million
dollars (replacement cost).
QUESTION- Some owners of the 750 St Marie
UNKEPT, UNDEVELOPED, UNINSURED, DEBT
LADEN condo units say that they should lead The
250 Old Timers and direct the activities of St Marie.
MANY ASK: Whatta You Nuts?
Courthouse
and
Association
Documents
substantiate the numbers. Statistics dont lie, The Truth
Always Prevails!
Nick Chiechi - a somewhat new Old Timer
~
- 11 year resident of St Marie
