Catalog Description Students participate in oral reports and group discussions to build uency and gain knowledge in learning areas of Health and Physical Education.
Objectives PE 21101 is designed to help you enhance the understanding of nervous systems, places emphasis on enabling learners to concurrently develop behaviours regarding knowledge, attitude, morality, values and health practices.
! Human Growth and Development: the nature of human growth and development; factors affecting growth; relationships and linkages in the functioning of various body systems as well as self-conduct for attaining growth and development in accord with students age. ! Life and Family: students values and those of their families; self-adjustment to changes in various respectsphysical, mental, emotional, sexual; creating and maintaining relationships with others; sexual health practices and life skills. ! Strengthening of Health, Capacity and Disease Prevention: principles and methods of selecting food for consumption, health products and services; capacity- strengthening for health and prevention of communicable and non- communicable diseases. ! Safety in Life: self-protection from various risk behaviours, i.e., health risks, accidents, violence, harm from use of medicines and addictive substances as well as guidelines for promoting safety in life Methods of Instruction pair and small group discussions oral presentations rehearsing specic speaking tasks (such as asking questions for clarication, summarizing a point the teacher made, interrupting politely, agreeing with someone, disagreeing politely, expressing confusion, and asking for a paraphrase, getting in and out of conversations) explicit strategy instruction
Health & Physical Education I PE 21101 Total 20 Hours (1 hour/week) Course Syllabus: PE 21101 EP1 Assignments and Grading 1. In Class Participation (10%): You must be in class and actively participating to improve your English. Your effort and attempts to speak English in class are important. 2. Oral Presentations ( 20%): The purpose of class time is to speak a lot and build your speaking uency. Come to class so that you can have this practice. You will need to prepare with homework assignments and then participate in group presentation preparation as part of your classwork. Then you will present to the class. 3. Attendance (10%) Attendance in class is required. If you must be absent from a class, please call or see me before the class (send an e-mail, leave a voice mail message, or write a note if there is no one in the ofce). Students will not be allowed to make up missed class work unless they have made prior arrangements or have an acceptable reason. 4. Vocabulary Builder (20%) Students are required to do Vocab Builder. There are schedules that you must follow: When: Everyday in the Morning 07:30- 08:00AM, and at Noon from 12:00 - 01:00 PM 5. Students Conducts and Misbehaviors (10%) NO!!! late assignments, missing classes, interrupting class instruction 6. Midterm 15% Students must take midterm exam. 7.
