    An obligation in business law contains specific elements and requisites. It has an active subject, passive subject, and prestation or object. There are different kinds of obligations including to give, to do, and not to do something. For an obligation to be valid, the prestation must be physically and juridically possible, determinate or determinable, and have pecuniary value. Obligations can arise from law, bilateral acts like contracts, or unilateral acts.
