FPS genre in video gaming currently dominates video gaming industry, but it

was not one of the first and certainly not one of the most wanted genres at its
beginning.
Games like Doom and Quake followed by Duke Nukem were classic FPS games
that everybody remembers. The rise of FPS games is a result of these exact
games. Today FPS genre is something completely new, a new breed of video
games. Nowdays FPS games tend to be as much realistic as possible. What
about fun factor, of course video games are fun in general, that is why they are
made for, but how much fun? Are they as much fun as first FPS games?
The answer is expected: A BIGNO!
The original FPS game were planned to be fast paced, lots of blood and most of
all FUNto play.
In the last 10 years, thesegames, that want to once again create a fun FPS
games could be easily counted. Serious Sam: The First Encounter appeared in
2001, its development started in 1996, when FPS games were still classic
shooters. But in 2001, the situation changed a lot, promissed new Duke Nukem
never arrived, last of the classic shooters got releast, and the arrival of the new
FPS was inevitable. Shooters became more slow, with less combat and action.
In 2005, Serious Sam 2 was released, Doom 3 and Quake 4 also, but that was
the last of them. We are still waiting for the new Doom, Quake is nowhere to
be seen or heard from, and new Serious Sam game , released only in 2011, and
that was a big dissappointment, just like the long awaited Duke Nukem. These
games are the goldem classic, Serious Sam probably could not be near these
classics, but it was a very good and fun game.

Inspiration
The main inspiration for the game is probably Serious Sam (TFE & TSE), Duke Nukem 3D also,
but not that much, Quake would be a inspiration for multiplayer.
The game should be fast paced,fast walking, no reloading, all guns, all lead and lots of dead
aliens. Game should be big, open maps, lots and lots of enemies spawning, lots of secrets
and easter eggs, opposite of the modern shooters.
The "think fast" should be the words describing the game, it should be hard, long, open,very
atmospheric.
It should remid of the old days, it should not, in any way, be like modern shooters.
Gameplay
Gameplay should be fast paced, there should be lots of power ups, and guns, enemies and
secrets as there should be lots of maps.
Arsenal in the games should consist of 10-20 guns, from tommy gun, to revolver and rocket
launcher to laser words, laser guns and weapons of the future, everything for everybody.
Unlocking these guns should be hard and depend on the level, progress of the player and the
situation in thescene.
Levels should be large, big open spaces with in door parts of the maps, close combat in
doors, and open combat with lots of enemies outside. Enemies spawn on random points and
try to kill the player making a scene like its the last day for the player ( is it?). Enemies can be
soldiers, zombies, skeletons, mutant animals... The gameplay should be also followed by
hardcore music, like in Serious Sam, quiet and peaceful music between combat, based on
the setting, and hardcore music during combat for some video game alien killing.
Setting should be in american west, dry deserts, lands of the cowboys. Large desert lands
should be perfect setting for alien invasion (large space =large space for aliens to spawn)
At the end of the level, player would be in boss fight, a large son-of-alien that tries to squash
you.
ART
Art of the game should be cartoony stiled, cell shaded game.
Weapons
Weapons would be westerm revolvers, tommy gun, rocket launchers,
laser sword, laser rifle, minigun, flame thrower and more.
They should be fast and deadly, no reloading, big damage and lots of
ammo.
First weapons at the start of the game would be revolvers and a
whip.
In the start, at the american deserts, player would play with guns of
that time, and as the game would progress, player would unlock
newer and newer guns.
Weapons should be simple and awesome.
Enemies
Enemies would be mostly aliens, alien soldiers and prisoners,
who would shoot you and charge at you. They would be very
easy to kill, and also most present in the game of all enemies.
Zombies would be slow and should exist only do distract the
player. Alien prisoners would charge at the player, they
would have bombs attatched to them so they would be very
tricky in combat. Mutant animals of the alien world wouldbe
very hard to kill, they would also charge at the player and try
to rip his apart. Enemie war mechs would be the least present
of all enemies, they would be very hard tokill and very
dangerous for the player. Bosses would be mutant aliens,
giant monsters who are slow, but radiate and have long range
attacks that would seriously challenge the players skill.
Levels
As alredy mentioned, levels would be open spaces, starting in
american west, and progress into modern day and also future and
alien worlds. Open worlds would be perfect for large number of
spawning enemies, levels would have in door parts, of ancient
buildings, elien ships, undergrounds... These areas would provide
puzzle part of the game and in door combat, but these parts would
be very short, compared to the open world part.
With the specific kind of levels, players would get specific guns ,
according to the setting.
Music
The music for the game should be western music for the parts of the
game setteled in the american west..., modern musicfor levels in
modern time, and futuristic music (electro!?). In combat, music
would be hard, rock music, similar to the Serious Sam soundtrack, the
music betwen combat however would be slower, tradicional music,
of the level.
