Defining our cause Sudden Infant Death Syndrome is known as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Sudden Unidentified Infant Death (SUID) Sudden Infant Death (SID) Cot death Crib Death SIDS is the sudden death of an infant under the age of 1, with no environmental causes or prior known illnesses. It occurs during sleep and is diagnosed after a thorough autopsy.
